20210131 - Happy Snowman

20210131 - Up in the am and G&I headed out to shovel the drive and walks. G got our drive done and headed over to do Doc's and I built a snowman. J headed to work and Hazel and I headed out. We went to the pet store and got her some treats and then headed to the dog park. We got to the park and were the only ones there for a while. Eventually a handful of dogs showed up and Hazel was more confident today and played a bit more. There was one bigger dog that made her nervous so she glued herself to me for a bit but got braver again and played some more. We headed home with a stop at the post office and Wendy's where we found J and a coworker out front of the restaurant building a snow man. We got out of the car and checked it out and then hit the drive through on the way home, Hazel got her own mini frosty. home and L had a warm bath ready for her and cleaned her up. I fixed the bathroom sink and got myself cleaned up and then hung out with L watching TV. D and a couple of his roommates stopped by to figure out his school money and chat a bit. L&I finished the night watching some TV 

20210130 + Dog Park

20210130 + Up in the am and L&I ran G to basketball and then the bank to sign some refi papers. We then headed to pick some stuff up at an auction house and return some stuff at Lowe's. We made it home and then Hazel and I headed out on a an adventure, we went to the dog park! Hazel was right by my side and was not aware there were other creatures like her around. She warmed up to some of the strangers, learned to sniff butts and ran a bit, but never too far from me. We headed home and L had to clean up her dirty feet before she could go in to the house. Home for the night, J at work and L&I watched a couple of movies.

20210129 - Batter Up

20210129 - Up in the am and LJ&G at school. Hazel and I did our normal morning routine and then in to the office to drill down to the fun stuff... L home and took Hazel on a walk. J headed to work, G and Hazel stayed home and L&I ran to the pet store and Bellacino's to pick up dinner. Home and we ate and then G&I ran to his batting practice. Home and L&I watched 'The Little Thing' and ordered rest of the security stuff for the house.

20210128 - BIG WIN!

20210128 - Up in the am L at work, J trying to get me to buy some stocks and G doing his chores. I did my morning stuff in the living room talking to J about how stocks work and watching the price of what he wanted to buy fall like a rock. In to the office for the afternoon. J&G went to Wal-Mart looking for something. L home and then the boys home. L ran Hazel to the vet for 3 shots and then G and Owen to basketball. I finished up my day and then L&I headed to G's basketball game and J started cooking dinner. G's game was probably the best they have played all year and the most intense. It was a super close game against another Gahanna team and the boys fought hard and had some amazing plays, lot so cheering and yelling going on! They WON!!! Home and J had the kitchen a mess and dinner almost done. G got cleaned up and Hazel and I ran to get gas. Back ho9me and dinner ready, we all ate in the living room watching the 1000 pound sisters. After dinner the boys headed upstairs and L&I cleaned up and relaxed the rest of the evening.

20210127 + Look Out

20210127 + Up in the am and everyone at school except Hazel and I. We did our morning routine and then moved in to the office to do some heavy lifting. L had a Dr appointment today. She got home and then ran G and Owen to basketball for pictures and practice. L cooked diner and we ate when G got home and watched some TV. We found the 1000 pound sisters on Discovery Plus... To bed and couldn't sleep...

20210126 - Free Throw

20210126 - Up in the am and L at work, J at school taking the PSAT and J upstairs online. I got my morning stuff done and headed in to the office to start calls. Calls started at 11 and went until 3 and on and off until I snuck out to get some food and then go to G's basketball game. It was a local game between 2 Gahanna schools and both teams were good that made for an exciting game. G did good and got 6 points but they lost. We headed home. J got home from running around (getting food...) and then D and DGF11 showed up for a visit. We hung out a bit and then wrapped up the night in good time and headed to bed.

20210125 - Food & Fixing

20210125 - Up in the am and L at school and J&G online. I got my morning things done and then moved in to the office. L home and took Hazel on a walk and then checked on the boys school work. I finished the day and came out and had dinner. After dinner I hosted a zoom meeting for the Boosters. It was a good quick meeting. After the meeting I played rough with Hazel and D and Mason showed up to put air in Mason's tires. They found a screw in his tire during the process and I guided them through plugging it. They got their tire fixed and headed out. L&I watched some TV and headed to bed in good time, but I was up till 3...

20210124 + Picker-uper

20210124 + Up in the am and G was at baseball and J headed to work. I got a couple things done around the house and got the final files from the closet reviewed and cleaned out. Hazel and I went on a big walk and she likes to pick things up and carry them along. Home and I headed over to the Mallonn's to help Penn finish up the install on his Nest thermostat, install a Nest doorbell and help with a Google account that got locked out. I headed home and D&DGF13 showed up for a nice dinner and to watch some football. It was a nice visit. J&G upstairs on their devices and everything shut down early for a busy week.

20210123 - Late Chinese

20210123 - Up in the am and G at basketball and J&I headed out. We swung through McD's and got some bfast on the way to the depot in Reynoldsburg to pick up some auction wins. We got our stuff and headed to a Lowe's that was on the way home to pick up some locking things for the garage back door. Home and I got a couple locks installed on the garage back door and mounted an external siren that links to our security system. In and at the desk looking through energy providers to lock in rates before they go crazy high. I then joined L in the living room where I went through the rest of the things in the filing cabinet. I then came up with a list of things yet to get to finish our new security plan. L&I watched some TV and I got a blast sent out for the Boosters. I ordered Chinese late and Hazel went with me to the post office and to pick up our late night snack.

20210122 + Not A lot

20210122 + Up in the am and LJ&G at school. I got my morning stuff done in the living room and then moved in to the office for the rest of the day. it was a busy day and I ended late. J got called in to work and L fed G&I before we headed to his hitting lesson. G did good and we headed home. Home and L&I watched a movie and the boys played on their devices.

20210121 - Day in Court

20210121 - Up early and L got J&G up for school and then L&I headed to downtown Columbus to meet our attorney, my buddy Chris. We got to Chris' office and then walked a couple blocks to the Franklin County Courthouse. We were there for the rollcall as was one of our good neighbors, and no sign of the bad neighbor. We got checked in and waited around for our turn in front of the judge. We waited around for our turn in front of the judge. We waited around for our turn in front of the judge. We waited around for our turn in front of the judge. At 11:30 the bailiff came out and told us to go get some lunch and come back at 1:30. So we walked a couple blocks and had a nice lunch. After lunch we walked back tot he courthouse and we waited around for our turn in front of the judge. We waited around for our turn in front of the judge. At 2pm the bailiff invited Chris and I in and L had to wait in the hall. Chris and I went in, the judge noted that the defendant was served and was aware of the hearing and due to their absence has chosen to waive their right to appear in court. I took the stand and Chris grilled me with questions that prompted questions from the judge. L got called in as a witness and was asked about her encounter with the dog trapping her in her car. The judge then spoke for quite a while about how things would progress and some of the things we should do to protect ourselves and catch the neighbor (more video cameras) doing things that would get him arrested. When we left the courtroom shortly after 4pm we feel pretty good that the judge has a good representation of what we are dealing with and will be anxiously awaiting her orders to be published. We walked back to Chris' office and then headed home.

Home and J&G did ok at home by themselves for the day and J was cooking and had the kitchen a complete mess. L ran G to basketball and then home for a bit before her and I ran to the school to watch G's game. The game was streaming on YouTube tonight so I let the Gpts know so they could watch. It was a blow out and G's team really beat the pants of the other guys. G had a good game and scored 8. Home and J had prepared dinner. We all ate and then J&G headed upstairs. L&I hung out in the living room for a bit completely exhausted from the long stressful day downtown.

20210120 + Court Prep

20210120 + Up in the am and LJ&G at school. Hazel and I got our morning stuff done and took a couple calls with the inauguration on in the background. L home, we had lunch and then I did a bit more work and ran some errands to the post office, gym to suspend the membership until this pandemic is over, the police station to pick up another report, the school to pick up some food and made a call. I got most of my errands done, the food pickup did not workout, but everything else got done. Home and I finished up my work day. L made us some dinner and I spent the rest of the evening getting things ready to take to court tomorrow.

20210119 - Stinky Gym

20210119 - Up in the am and L at school and J&G doing some things online. L got my day rolling and then moved in to the office for a meeting. L home at lunch and took Hazel for a walk and J went somewhere. L ran G to school to catch the bus for his game, I finished up my day and L made us some dinner before we headed to Newark to watch G play. The gym was incredibly stinky, to the point where it burned our eyes... The boys played really hard and really good and won! We headed home, got to the school and picked up G. Home and Chris stopped over to review the police records and talk about Thursday's court date. After Chris left we closed down for the night.

20210118 - Brave Friend

20210118 - Up in the am and everyone home today. L making cinnamon roles and cookies and everyone else sleeping. I got my morning things done in the living room and then moved to the office for the day. After a long day i came out and L&I ran G and Owen to basketball practice and then we ran a couple of errands. We got home and L cooked us dinner, I don't know where J is. We ate and then L got an a zoom call with her girlfriends and I took apart the doorbell hanging on the wall and tried to figure out why it has been buzzing with the new Nest Hello doorbell. Seems it was wired wrong forever... I got the wires all figured out, J home and helped me test stuff and no more buzzing. G home from practice and got us a snack and we watched some TV. One of our friends, Bill Varney, is an officer that is going to Washington DC to be part of the inauguration. It was supposed to be an honor, but now with all the crap going on at the Capitol we are very nervous for him. CRAZY WORLD. To bed in good time

20210117 - A New LIght

20210117 + Up in the am and and J at work. I got some morning stuff done and then J went to work and G&I started working on installing a light in J's closet. We had to do some pretty extensive exploring in the walls. G left and went to Trent's to watch the Brown's game. I kept going and had to use two different circuits to make J's light work. I got things working and buttoned up after 3 hours... I took Hazel on a walk, ran in to the Barnetts and we caught up for a bit. I then ordered a pizza via text and called Jason about the 8th grade baseball team, still trying to make that work... Home and Hazel and I ran to Jet's to pick up our pizza. Home and L&I had dinner while we watched the end of the Browns game. I then started to cleaning out 2020 files and preparing for taxes. Hazel & I ran to pick G up at Trent's and trent came home with us to spend the night. We played Trouble and then the boys headed up. L&I sorted some more stuff and then headed to bed after a busy weekend.

20210116 - Memorial & Security

20210116 - Up late and G at basketball practice and L cleaning. J&I up late, I got some things on a list I want to get done this weekend. J came down and we put a security sign up by the back gate and then worked on the garage door keypad. We all then took a break to head back to Jefferson to pay our respects to a boy J&G knew that passed away a couple weeks ago. The procession had some police cars, his parents in a firetruck, a Ford Mustang (his favorite car) and the middle school cross country team running along side the ashes of there friend. Very nice to see the community turn out for the support, but so very very sad. 

After the memorial we headed back tot he house and I started to install a one-sided deadbolt, I had never done one before. But it was only a half install as I was adding a SimpliSafe digital lock to it which added an entire layer of complications. The install was a Nest Hello digital doorbell. Well so you know doorbell wires become a bit brittle after 50 years... and sometimes breakoff in the wall that requires extensive digging and manipulation outside in the cold... After a couple of hours of precise calculations and attempts the new doorbell and lock are installed. D stopped by with some friends during all this and J went and came back from work. I stayed up late trying to configure all the new digital stuff in the house so it just works and L doesn't need to think about it.

20210115 + New Swing

20210115 + Up in the am and LJ&G at school. I got around and headed downtown to the attorney's office. I met with Chris and we discussed the plan and headed over to the courthouse. We filed the papers for the Civil Protection Order, and the Magistrate was nice enough to see us before he went to lunch. It was a stressful event, reviewing all of the crazy things the neighbor has done. After some discussion he granted me a CPO. Chris and I discussed next steps and I headed home. I got a bit of work done and then made some copies of the CPO and headed to Gahanna Police department to give them a copy and request certified copies of police reports for next door. I had a call with the HS Baseball coach about 8th grade to see if anything could be done to save their season, it doesn't look good... Home and drafted an email to send to the neighbors, Mayor, Police Chief, Superintendent, School Board and Principal of the school behind our house. I finished the day doing some work. L made dinner. G&I went to his hitting lessons and he got to try his new bat for the first time. I got on a call about 8th grade baseball, still doesn't look good. Back in to check on G's hitting and he loves the bat and is hitting the crap out of the ball with it. Home and L asleep in her chair, J&G upstairs on the Xbox, I played with Hazel a bit before heading to bed after a pretty stressful day.

20210114 - Cooker

20210114 - Up in the am L at work and J&G home today. I had a busy day getting some things done. L&I headed to G's game. G started but soon was out for the majority of the game as they we up by 30 within minutes... It was a quick game and they won by a huge margin. Home and J had cooked us some fancy burgers for dinner. Home and we all ate together, they were delicious. After dinner Chris over and we reviewed a plan to file a Civil Protection Order against the neighbor tomorrow. Watched some TV to finish the night.

20210113 - Bus Missed

20210113 - Up in the am and J off to school first, then G missed his bus so L had to take him and when G got out of the car he took the car fob with him so L made it to school, but G has the keys for the car... I got online and got my morning things done. I moved in to the office and before long Hazel and I had to fire up the whistling white car and take the extra set of keys to L at her school. L came out when she heard/saw us and let us know she found the keys. Hazel and I went to the gas station and then headed home where I got glued to the desk/phone for the rest of the day. L home and started cleaning, J home and took a nap before heading to work and G home playing with hazel and then L took G and Owen to basketball practice. I organized things to get done the rest of the evening and tomorrow and headed out of the office. I got a couple of things done before I had to join my Landscape Board meeting via Zoom. After the call I hung out with L for the night.

20210112 + J Cookin G Dribblin

20210112 + Up in the am and L at work and both boys up. G&I headed out and got his braces adjusted. Home and on the PC for a couple calls, Hazel hanging out with me. L home and made everyone lunch. D stopped over and we got his fees paid with Columbus State and he made contact with the financial aid people. L ran G and Owen to the bus for their basketball game. L home and I finished up my day and we headed to Lancaster to watch G's game, J stayed at home with Hazel. Our drive was dark, long and winding, we didn't like it, but got there in good time. We checked in on J and Hazel and J had everything we own out in the kitchen cooking something... We got to our seats and I got a text asking if I was going to join the Civil Service meeting that I completely forgot about. I stepped out of the game and joined the call long enough to nominate others for duties :-)  Back in to the game and it was a mess. The refs were terrible, one called traveling and the other across the floor called a shooting foul AT THE SAME TIME. Our boys had 17 fouls vs their 4... Anyway we lost by 3 and just wanted to get out of there. On the road, sticking to larger roads this time. We came across a Rax and I zipped in to get us dinner. It took FOREVER to get our food. Lancaster just doesn't want us around tonight so we got out of there. Home, Hazel was happy to see us and we tasted J's meal he made, it was really good. G got cleaned up and we got ready for tomorrow and all to bed in good time. GmaW got her COVID Vaccine today!

20210111 - Figuring Things Out

20210111 - Up in the am and L at school and G online, the school called and J missed his first 2 classes... I got him up and checked his grades and he has some work to do. I got online and got my day rolling. G came down and took Hazel out to run a bit for lunch. L home and I was at the desk getting caught up and moving things forward all day. I headed out at the end oft he day to the post office, the high school to pick up the free COVID food and then met with the GLHS Baseball Booster Reps for a quick meeting to make sure we are all aligned for the upcoming season. Seems like they are going to try to have a season this year but it will look very different... I swung by Jet's to pick up a pizza on the way home. Home and Hazel figured out how to get her toys we keep putting up on the picnic table... We all settled in the basement to watch Ohio State in the championship. They played ok at first and then Alabama just took control, they are an amazing football team. Buck lost and we all headed to bed happy we made it tot he game but disappointed we lost.

20210110 - Browns Win!

20210110 - Up late, G to a friends house to hang out. J got up minutes before he had to go to work. L&I hung out and discussed further home security and watched some TV. We then picked up G, he went home to watch the dog L&I to Home Depot ton other side of town to get a look they only had there. Then we went to the Lowe's D works at to look at storm doors. We were looking and D found us. We chatted a bit and he showed us where he worked and then we headed home. I headed over to Penn's to help install his new Nest thermostat, it was a bit challenging. Home and D and his friends stopped over to get some desk pieces and borrow the drill. LG&I headed to the basement to watch the Browns vs Steelers game. J home from work and joined us for a bit. It was a good game and the Browns won! This is historic as they have never won anything in my lifetime...

20210109 - Brake Fix

the auto parts store where he picked out what brakes he wanted. Home and we jacked his car up and replaced his brakes. I walked him through the first one, the one making the grinding noise, and then he did the second one all by himself. Luck for him it was probably the easiest brake job I have ever done... J took off for work and I looked for whatever was in the tire of the Hyundai that has making it loose pressure and found a screw! I backed the car in and the little silver car showed up next door that causes all the problems and lit up in the driveway, filling the car with smoke. I called the cops and they had a nice long talk with them... I got the screw out of the tire and got a plug in, let's hope that solves the tire issue. As I was finishing up Penn stopped over. He hadn't heard the shooter story so I got him up to speed and then showed him the new alarm. Penn took off and L&I had some dinner, G joined us for a minute and then we watched football the rest of the night. 

20210108 - Not Much

20210108 - Up in the am and everyone at school. Hazel and I had bfast and got our morning things done before moving in to the office. The day went fast as it was another day full of escalations... After work L, Hazel and I ran and got Jimmy John's for dinner. J stayed with a friend tonight, G was up on his Xbox and L&I watched a good movie on Netflix and searched for things I need to get this weekend for the security install.

20210107 - First Win

20210107 - Up in the am L at school and I got J&G up after I got my morning things done. At the desk getting things done. L home and took Hazel to the vet for a puppy checkup. J 'cleaned his room' and headed out to see some friends. G home, changed and L dropped him off at the school. I finished up the day and L&I headed to the school to see G's basketball game. It was a home game and the boys played much better in game 2. G played almost the whole game and had many good assists. The boys won big! Home and took a call on 8th grade baseball... L made dinner for us and LG&I had dinner and chatted about the game. J home, played with Hazel for a minute and then headed upstairs. L&I hung out in the living room watching TV a bit and then she headed to bed. I called Gma&paW to see how things were going. G had Hazel all fired up and I stayed up with her a bit watching Battel Bots until too late.

20210106 + Neighborhood Meeting

20210106 + Up late and LJ&G at school and Hazel wandering around the house... Got the day started and Dave my Jewish buddy stopped by for a chat. Got in to the office and Hazel was in to everything. L home and made us some lunch and took Hazel on a big walk. L ran G to basketball practice and J went to work shortly after getting home from school. I was at the desk the rest of the day and finished with a call to a director that was escalating every support ticket that came in... I then headed to the Rusty Bucket to meet some of the neighbors and the landlord/father of the neighbor that is shooting and causing problems. It was an ok meeting, what a crappy thing for all of us, including the father to be going through... He now has a much better picture of everything that has been going on and realizes he has to get his son out of there. Home and reviewed the meeting with L. The Superintendent of our schools called to see how the meeting went too. Up tossing and turning, couldn't sleep...

20210105 - Lorene is 99 Today!

20210105 - Up late in the am, L at work and J&G online for school. I got on my call and then dug in for the day. The BIG NEWS of the day is L's Gma Lorene Kraft turned 99 today!!!! I had a normal day at work and at the end of the day I headed to Reynoldsburg to watch G in his first 8th grade basketball game. The boys did ok, they looked like it was their first game, and the refs were definitely there for the home team. But they played hard and G played almost the entire game. He swished a 3 and then got 2 by shooting from a pass while he was in the air! After the game we headed home and swung through McD's to pick up some food. We got stuck behind someone that was paying with handfuls of change... ugh... By the time we got out food the bus was at the school so we picked G up and headed home, he was blah blah blah about the game the whole way home. Home and we ate and then Chris stopped over for a visit. We chatted for a while and he told about his Christmas disasters hahaha. Then Nate the neighbor came over and we planed for the meeting with the father of the wack job neighbor tomorrow evening over a couple glasses of bourbon. To bed late.

20210104 + At My Feet

20210104 + Up in the am and L went to school, she had kids today and they were happy to be back. I spent the morning in the living room doing mail with Hazel and then got J&G up, well really only G, to help with Hazel. I headed in to the office, tried to get J up an hour later... G was a big help and got all of his stuff done too. Hazel crashed in my office and L home and took over dog duty. Today was crazy busy with year end and new year activities, the day was gone before I knew it. I headed out and L was cooking a big dinner. J was at work and G was at basketball. G got home and shortly after D&DGF13 showed up and we all had a nice meal together. After dinner L&I installed a SimpliSafe security system in the house. I took a couple calls about the neighbor from another neighbor that is trying to reason with the father... and the Superintendent of our schools. Stayed up too late on the PC.

20210103 - Team Lunch

20210103 - Up in the am and G at baseball practice. I got to the desk and finished up money stuff on the PC. G and some of the boys from his team went to lunch after practice and then he headed home. We watched some football and worked on typing up a Civil Protection Order to give to our attorney to file against the neighbor...  D stopped over for a bit and he has scheduled classes at Columbus state! :-)  Had more calls with the Neighbors about the legal stuff we are going to do. Some are wavering and nervous... Finished the night on the phone with folks about 8th grade baseball and trying to make sure there is a team next year... To bed EXHAUSTED!

20210102 - Litter

20210102 - Up in the am and L ran G and Owen to basketball practice. I got up and around and L gave me a haircut. G home, I rinsed the hair off and then headed outside to mount a camera on the East side of the house. While out there I saw all the beer bottles our neighbor had just tossed in his yard last night, and his mother showing up with Starbucks for him and his girlfriend... I Got that done, headed in and had a late late lunch. J headed to work and L and Hazel ran with me to pick up her white car with two new expensive tires. They headed home and I ran to the grocery to get L some butter and batteries for myself. I swung through the post office on the way home. Home and we had some leftovers for dinner. I programmed the new biometric handgun safe. L&I watched some football and I played with Hazel a bit. G came down and took her outside and she got into some crap so L had to give her another rinse. J home with burgers for everyone and then up to his room. G after some convincing put all of his electronics away and sat down to watch some football with L&I. Hazel put herself to bed and G fell asleep on the couch.

20210101 + Dog Blow Dry

20210101 + Up in the am got a couple of things done in the office. D&DGF13 stopped by for lunch. L made a nice big lunch and we all ate together. We hung out and chatted a bit after lunch, I got some bill paid and then the kids left and J headed to work. I headed out in the backyard with Hazel. We patched up the remaining couple of places around the yard the fence was questionable and she was FILTHY from running and digging and having a good old time out there with me. We settled in and got the Buckeye on TV and hoped for the best. The Buckeyes showed up tonight! WHAT AN AMAZING GAME!!!! There was a lot of jumping and yelling at the TV and Hazel didn't like it so went to her bed. The Bucks won and it was a great night. 

The silver car showed up at the neighbors a couple minutes after midnight... Loud music, swearing and yelling emerged from the back porch. About 1:15 I got a great video of the neighbor under the influence of something falling flat on his back in his driveway, struggling to get up, stumbling to his front door to beat on it and yell 'Open the F-ing Door N...'  What a way to end the first night of 2021!
