20250420 - Up in the am and L drove Hazel and I to Gma&paB's for Easter. DJG, Hanna and Hank showed up not much later. The Cole's were there and we had a proper feast for lunch. Hazel and I took a big walk looking for maple trees but didn't find any this trip. Hung out a bit and then we headed home. Home too late to do any work outside so hung out the rest of the night and watched American Idol

20220502 - Sam's Meet
20211225 + Christmas
20211225 + Up in the am got showered and had on of the cinnamon rolls L made all before the boys got up. This is way different than years past... L got the boys up and we gathered to open presents. We took turns and even Hazel used her paws and opened her presents carefully removing the paper and retrieving her toys. The boys got things they needed and liked, L got a new phone and I got 4 OSU hats. After the openings D&G worked on their Legos and J went upstairs and put his new bed together, L got the house ready for guests. Lonie showed up and then Gma&paW, JGF? and the Coles. We had a nice lunch and then headed to the basement to open some more gifts and play a game that had everyone laughing. Out guests left and we cleaned up a bit. J headed to JGF?'s, G up to the Xbox and LD&I watched the new Matrix in the basement. Praise God for such a very nice day.
20211024 + XC & Football
20211024 + Up late and it's clean up day. We got a bunch of cleanup done last night so now it is just putting things back where they go, cleaning serving stuff and getting back to normal. L headed out to watch Sam run in the 8th grade state xc meet and it was raining hard. I just milled around in the garage, took my time and cleaned and cleaned the day away. L home, soaked, I ran G to basketball at the high school. Home and picked up some supplies and headed over to the Mallonn's. We looked at options to rearrange their home network while they had a bunch of walls ripped open for the kitchen remodel. L ran and picked G up from practice and I got home shortly after. We had some dinner and watched some TV and relaxed the rest of the evening.
20210725 - Picnic
20210725 - Up in the am and J headed to work and LG Hazel and I headed to Delaware to meet up with L's family for a picnic. IT was a nice time and really good to see folks and catch up. It was really hot and I was feeling pretty tired so we didn't stay to late. Home and L ran G out to a friend's to spend the night. D stopped over to get supplies to clean up the house he's living in before he moves in to the new one. L and I sat around watching the Olympics. J home after a long day and watched some of the skateboarding with us before heading upstairs. L&I watched some gymnastics and swimming before heading to bed. I was up late.
20210404 - Easter with Everyone
20210404 - Up in the am and D home to get J&G to carry them to Gma&paB’s for an Easter lunch. We all headed out late due to J... L, Hazel and I in one car and the boys in another. They passed us at one point, hope they don’t get a ticket. Made it to Gma&paB's and chatted a bit then had a huge lunch. After lunch the kids played outside in the beautiful day and we just hung out, relaxed and chatted the rest of the day. DJ&G headed home a bit early and L&I left later. Super nice to be together with folks again and outside. Home and L&I watched some American Idol. Chris came over and we talked about his job change last week and watched the Walking Dead.
20201220 ‡ Present Transfer
20201220 ‡ Up in the am and G at baseball practice, J headed in to work and L Hazel and I headed out. We swung through Reynoldsburg to pick up an auction win on the way to Newark to meet up with her side of the fam. We got there in good time and met up with Gma&paB, Nicole, Rich, Sam and Lena. They all made over Hazel and we got the gifts swapped. We sat around and chatted for a bit and then frozen, we headed home. We stopped and picked G up from the Bowman's on the way home. Home and unloaded everything. We hung out watching some football and in the evening G&I headed to his pitching practice. This coach has G do the neatest things and fully explains why and what it will fix or change with his pitching, really amazing. After pitching G&I headed to Kroger where we got all the fixins for Christmas dinner. Home, unpacked and Penn stopped over for a visit and brought us some of their homemade candy. We chatted for a while and then L&I got some dinner. I called dad and we then shut down for the night after a busy weekend.
20190713 - FIRE & Family
20190713 - Up in the am and G&I out to the fire station where a young man gave us a tour of the trucks and explained things to G&I. It was super cool and as we left G said 'I think you liked that more than I did!'. I did, those huge trucks a re cool! We thne swung through Kroger to get supplies for the weekend and headed home. We unloaded our groceries and all of us headed North to Delaware for a family picnic with L's family. D got to go too as his games were cancelled for the day, too many injured players... We had a good time and ate a ton and G&I played a lot of cornhole with other family members on the board we made. After the picnic we headed home and finalized things for Scout camp starting tomorrow. L&I ran some errands picking up last minute things for the boys, dinner and some things at Home Depot. Home, ate and watched a movie. All to bed in good time for a busy day tomorrow.
20190504 - W, Rain, L, Dinner
20190504 - Up early and LG&I headed to Berliner Sports Park for a game. It was a great game until one inning we blew the run rule lead and gave up 8 runs on 8 errors... OMG! Gma&paB showed up to watch and unfortunately it was one of G's worse games... Somehow the boys pulled out a W and we got seeded in the gold bracket. L&I headed back to the house with Gma&paB while G hung out with the McClain's so he could play. We got ready for the party tonight and I grabbed a quick haircut while LJ&GmaB went shopping for J's birthday. All back at the house and we listened to G's game, it was a rainy mess and they got beat bad... L headed to the party early to set up, J&Gma&paB headed out next and G got dropped off and did a quick turn around and him and I headed to the party at Brio in Polaris. It was a nice crowd, all of GmaB's sisters and their husbands were there, not sure the last time we have all been together. Great to catch up with folks and great food. J&I bailed out first so he could drive home in the light. We got home and hung out. Soon everyoe else got home and we chatted until late.
20190421 - Easter 2019
20190421 - Everyone up early and a pretty stressful getting to the car experience... we drove to Gma&paB's and headed to their church for Easter Service. We then all headed back to their house for a huge yummy meal. After the meal DJ, GpaB &I took a nap and G played with Sam and Lena. We chatted for a bit and then took off. Home and Lilly was outside all day, we forgot her... and she dug up a couple huge holes along the back of the house to let us know... D headed back to school and J&G helped me get the mower running with the supplies L&I got yesterday. J then helped me get the pump installed in the backyard and he headed in to get on the Xbox with G. I hung out on the back porch until L was done mowing and we headed in to watch a bit of American Idol before heading to bed.
20190127 - Family Dinner
20190127 - Up in the am and ran to pick G up from his buddy's and drop him off at baseball. Stopped to get gas on the way home. Home for not long trying to get some things done and then ran back out to get G and drop him off at a basketball friend's house to get him to a game this afternoon. Swung by the house to get L&J and head to Zanesville. On the way I asked J to help with an easy task on the drive and J melted down... Had a nice lunck with Gma&paB, the Coles and L's uncle Kenny and aunt Suzzie for Steve's 72 bday. After lunch we ran to Ken & sue's house for a house tour and dessert. We then loaded a huge generator up the Kenny gave to us and headed home. Home, G home, he's exhausted and melted down. Got boys cleaned up and watched a movie before heading to bed.
20180714 - Last Game & Picnic
20180714 - Up in the am and we all piled into the car and headed to Dublin to watch D play baseball. J&I dropped L&G off and headed back to McD's to get some bfast. Back to the game and it was not the prettiest game. The boys ended up losing the game which knocked them out of the tournament and was the last game for the season. It was the last game ever for 4 of the boys and I am guessing the last Summer game for D as well. After the game we headed North to Delaware State Park with a stop to gas up D's car. We got to the park and met up with L's extended family for a late 4th of July picnic. It was good to see folks, catch up, try once again to fly a kite. We stayed for a bit and then D&J headed home. J met with his merit badge counselor and finally finished his cooking merit badge! LG&I headed out shortly after. LG&I headed to Reynoldsburg to pick up some auction wins and look around the store. We then headed to the Government Surplus store to look for a hammock, failed, so we hit Meijer and got D a backpack for school, a hammock for G for camp and some snacks for the campers. We got home and unpacked, and then had the boys pack their packs and double check everything to make sure they were ready for camp, J suddenly has no shoes... D&DGF7 ran and got us pizzas. Hung out on the back porch until I couldn't take the bugs anymore.
20160623 - Hitting the Brakes
20160623 - Up in the am and helped J make a list of Scout tasks he needs to do before Summer Camp. L&I got around and headed to D's fist game of the day in Dublin. The game didn't go as planned and the boys lost. We all headed home and I got a couple of things done before I had D run me on some errands in his car. I was terrified at the noise his brakes were making. D ran me to the Home Depot to return some stuff, Advance Auto to get brake pads for his car, the bank to deposit my first check, the gas station to fill up his car and Dick's to get him some turf cleats. We swung by home for a minute before D&I headed out for his second game. L&G stayed home to be with Sam and Lena as they are going to spend the night. J left to spend the night at a friends. I started reading a book waiting on D's game and then they played, but lost. Home and D&I put brakes on his car all the way around. The back drivers side brake was completely worn off and dropped down to rattle around between the splash guard and the rotor, this is what was making all the nose, on top of the caliper pushing directly against the rotor :-o Tom showed up and helped a little bit and then Tom and I changed the back brakes on his car. After all the mechanic work I relaxed on the back porch with a Natty before heading in to remove all the grease and head to bed. Very productive day.
20170129 - Completed 70 Years!
20170129 - Up in the am and we missed church... L ran some errands, D went to work, I ran J to a buddy's, G had a friend over and I sat at the desk trying to get things done. Had a friend from my old job swing by and drop a couple things off. He said things are good, they divided my job up across 4 people and gave them raises. AMEN, they have deserved raises for YEARS!!!! Around 5 we headed to the Cole's, stopping along the way to pick up J, drop off G's friend and then on for a very nice dinner and bday celebration for GpaB, he turned 70!!! D picked up DGF7 after work and met us at the Cole's for some grub and cake. All home, boys to bed, up late trying to keep up on personal work as well...
20161224 + Christmas Eve
20161224 + L woke me up early and we started the day. I got a bit of work done, read an MSA while the boys played on the Xbox. We all got ready and then headed to the Cole's for Christmas Eve dinner, we were late. We ate and then Santa showed up to give the kids some gifts and then the adults had a gift exchange. We all then got ready and headed to the Cole's church in New Albany where we attended a service that had a nice kids program, by my LAST LOUD Rock'n Roll church service. Home and we watched Dory before the boys headed off to bed and L&I got things arranged for Santa to arrive.
20160530 + Relaxing Day
20160530 + Up in the morning and at the desk getting things done. L and the boys up and ready. We all piled into D's car and he drove us to the Cole's for a cookout. Gma&paB were there. It was a beautiful day to hang out on their back porch and watch the kids play in the backyard. On the way home we stopped at Best Buy to check out TVs. Home in the evening and we all suited up and headed to the pool for the first time this year. G had to take a swim test and he did just fine. Home and everyone had leftovers as we watched The 300.
20151225 - Mery Chrismas
20151225 - The little boys woke us up at 6:52 and we told them to go back to bed :-) That didn't work so up and out to the living room to open some presents. The boys opened presents and for the first time D was more interested int he reactions his gifts got than what he received. He did a really good job and got me a beer sweatshirt that has an extra pocket to hold a beer :-) The boys took turns and opened things nicely. Everyone was very happy with the things they got, especially J&G when they opened iPhone 6s' at the same time. It wasn't until several seconds later did they realize D had used empty iPhone boxes to give them little Lego guys. Our presents open and boys cleaned up, down on the Xbox trying out their new games. Soon the Gma&paB&W showed up and the Coles for a proper houseful. We had a fantastic lunch and even more presents. The kids played inside, outside, upstairs, downstairs, all over the place. In the evening when thigns settled down, somehow G convinced Gma^paW to take him home with them... So he left. LDJ&I went down to the basement to play some Star Wars Battlefront and then watch 'ex machina', super weird movie... A very nice Christmas
20151017 + Party & Win
20151017 + UP early and DJ&I put together some obstacles for G's party. We made a super cool rope climbing wall and some rams out of old pallets. J headed to his soccer game and G's friends started showing up, the American Ninja Warrior bday party was underway. The boys did the obstacle course over and over until we pulled them off for the pinata that broke on like the 4th kids :-( The kids sang happy bday to G and they had some cake and then they went wild in the backyard. I headed to Pickerington to watch J's 2nd tournament game in the freezing cold. They WON! Home and Gma&paW brought dinner in. We ate and then settled in for the OSU vs Penn State game. It was an awesome game! and an awesome day for our 9 year old.
20150907 - Wind in the Face
20150907 - UP in the am and L out getting some food. She got home and we all (including Lilly) jumped in the car and headed to Gma&paB's for a nice Labor Day holiday. We had a great meal and the kids had a lot of fun at the ball field, on the play set and hanging out. GpaB had to work on some escalations but joined us later in the day at game time for some family fun and to smoke out some moles. We headed home at a calculated time to make sure we were home to see the Buckeyes game. J&G sat in the very back and played cards all the way home which meant Lilly got to sit in the passenger seat and put her head out the window. Home and settled in for a great opening game for the Buckeyes!
20150718 - Family Time
20150718 - Up in am and at the desk for a little bit. Gma&paW stopped by after her follow up appointment, Dr. says things look good, but she is in a lot of pain. We then loaded up and headed to the Scout Shop on the way to Delaware for a Kraft family picnic. It was hotter than all get out but it was great to see everyone and have the kids play and play. We stayed into the afternoon and headed out about 4.
We got home, took a short break and then walked downtown with the Mallonn's to try out a Mexican place we had never been to. It was good and fun. We headed back home where we chatted some more, played some games and watched Mythbusters.
