20260124 + Tommy's 49

20260124 + Up at 5:30am and couldn't go back to sleep. Up and had some coffee with L and then prepping the bedroom for some work in there today. Heading out to drop off a shipment, get some stuff at Home Depot, gas in L's car and pick up auction wins. Home and unloaded everything and got to work in the bedroom. First job was to to install a new properly grounded outlet for the new grounded sheets. Hope I don’t electrocute us in our sleep… second project was to hang a TV on the bedroom wall and run electric up to it. Well first job went way easier than expected… second job made up for that and was a nightmare! Figured it out and got it done. L&I then headed to our friend Tom’s bday party with his family. The McClains were there too and it was a really good time. Home and to bed.

20230322 - Up early and layered up like a club sandwich, L&I headed to Olentangy Liberty wind tunnel for G’s scrimmage. He’s not playing as he’s been out the last 2 days. We stayed almost the whole

Game. G did get in when a kid got injured for one inning and one at bat grounding out in the infield. We headed home and D and Hank were here out in the backyard with Hazel. LD&I cut down the grasses along the fence. Bill Varney stopped and picked me up and we headed to the lower.com stadium for a Crew soccer game. We had great seats that came with free food and drink! Really neat atmosphere and fun to be at even though it ended in a tie, how does any sporting event end in a tie??? Home and to bed. 

20210214 - Cocktails & Chocolate

20210214 - Up in the am and L tried on her new Valentines Day dress I got her :-) L headed out to get some groceries, J headed to work and G started his last day of quarantine by heading back to the school to shoot the basketball. I got a couple things done on the PC and then caught up on the blog and started listing things on ebay. L home and I helped her get the groceries in and then bundled up and Hazel and I headed out to Goodwill to drop some stuff off and then on to the dog park. There were way too many dogs there today and Hazel and I kept our distance from the large barking biting packs and she played with a couple other smaller dogs that stayed out of the mayhem. We were there about an hour and then headed home with a quick stop to get a frosty from J. Home and L got Hazel cleaned up and I got ready for a night out. Bill and Tiff showed up and we headed to Creekside Cocktail & Chocolate Trail downtown. It was a little program where we got a passport from the visitors bureau and then walked around to 8 of the local businesses at Creekside and had some food and drinks and looked at art and just hung out and caught up. D and DGF11 met up with us towards the end. Home and we watched American Idol to round off a nice day.

20210118 - Brave Friend

20210118 - Up in the am and everyone home today. L making cinnamon roles and cookies and everyone else sleeping. I got my morning things done in the living room and then moved to the office for the day. After a long day i came out and L&I ran G and Owen to basketball practice and then we ran a couple of errands. We got home and L cooked us dinner, I don't know where J is. We ate and then L got an a zoom call with her girlfriends and I took apart the doorbell hanging on the wall and tried to figure out why it has been buzzing with the new Nest Hello doorbell. Seems it was wired wrong forever... I got the wires all figured out, J home and helped me test stuff and no more buzzing. G home from practice and got us a snack and we watched some TV. One of our friends, Bill Varney, is an officer that is going to Washington DC to be part of the inauguration. It was supposed to be an honor, but now with all the crap going on at the Capitol we are very nervous for him. CRAZY WORLD. To bed in good time

20201024 - 15th Annual OSU Football Party

20201024 - Up early and started the chili and final preparations for our OSU Party. Things were running smooth, got the hot dogs steaming and Dave showed up to help a bit before others showed up. Right around kickoff we had more folks come in and it was GREAT to see people! I wan't sure how many folks would show up with all the crazy COVID stuff going on and honestly couldn't remember who all got invited. But was had a nice crowd, about 30 folks, that should up and stayed social distanced and work masks and hung out and chatted and had a good time. L&I were happy that the crowd was smaller, it allowed us time to actually sit and catch up with folks rather than run around refilling buns and bowls and host duties that we normally do. Nice calm day and the Buckeyes looked great and WON! Several of the guests brought 50th bday gifts, expensive bourbon and Dave got me the coolest little bourbon cask I've ever seen. The party wound down and everyone except a couple neighbors headed out. The 2 neighbor guys stayed until 1:30am watching football, drinking and chatting. It was enjoyable, but WAY too late for me. VERY NICE DAY!

20200829 + They Have Worms

20200829 + Up in the am and L had dropped G off at school to go to his XC meet in Whitehall. I got up and around and L&I swung through the bank and then on to the XC meet. Hard to recognize people with masks on... G did good he got 9th out of a ton of kids and finished in 14:13. From there L&I went and picked up auction wins and headed home. We unloaded the good and I started fixing the neighbors cabinet door that he punched through... L ran and got G, J wandered in for a couple min and then ran some stuff to Goodwill for us. D showed up to get stuff for a party they are having tonight and split, L mowed. I hit the back porch to catch up on Booster stuff. Bill  & Tiff stopped by and L&I walked down to the Gahanna Grill and had dinner. We then walked over to Stadium, the new place, and had a couple drinks. Back to the house and hung out on the back porch with them and had a nice fun and relaxing evening. The neighbors next door decided to have a party so I stayed on the back porch updating the bog until 2:15 when I called them and told them it was time to shut down the party. I had some words across the fence with one of his thug friends and they shut down the party... TO bed, but fired up and couldn't get to sleep until 3...

20200701 - HOME RUN!!!

20200701 - Up in the am and got on calls and had a busy day in the office. D took G back to the school and pitched to him for about an hour. Boys back home for a minute and then headed up to Westerville for G's baseball game. We played the Cobras and somehow by the grace of God the last time we played them they won. Well our boys weren't having any more of that. The boys played very well and G went 2 for 3, 1 nice deep shot to center that was caught, another for a single and a bomb for a home run! his second ever. G's home run put the game out of touch for the Cobras and we run ruled them after 5. After the game we headed to Coach's to eat and celebrate Bi'll bday. It was a good time. D brought G and the other players from the team back to our house to play wiffle ball and called shortly after to let me know his recently repaired phone screen got smashed... L&I chatted with Tom Sr. and his wife and heard some amazing stories of his life. The best being 'convinced' to drive to Wytheville VA and get married at 18. Guy has had an amazing life. Home and got another old phone out of the safe for D and he took off with his friends. The other parents stopped and got their kids and we headed to bed.

20200522 + Start of Weekend

20200522 + Up in the am and L&I ran to pick up my car from Tuffy. Home and L&G went to his school drive through end of year PC return and locker pickup event. J headed in to work and I jumped on some calls. I spent the rest of the day in the office. G in the shed, L painting. Day over, J home and then skating, D&G went to pick up dinner and I headed to the back porch to relax and catch up on a couple of things. We ate and then the McClains stopped over for a couple beers, cornhole and a campfire. It was a relaxing evening. 

20200509 - Distant Visit

20200509 - Up in the am and have a huge list of things to get done. I handed out jobs and everyone got busy. L touched up more paint. D helped me cut and install the new handrail and then take it back up to the shop. J did some sanding and then took off skateboarding. DGF10 showed up and D and her headed out to return some stuff at Lowe’s and do some shopping at Target. I then sanded my desk and the steps and returns Back out to the garage and sanded the handrail and applied a coat of poly to the handrail and my desk. I then got down on the office floor and cleaned it and touched up some spots. Everyone back home and L cooked us a nice dinner. L&I played Jumanji with D&DGF10. I headed out to the shop and got a second coat on the handrail and desk and then cleaned the garage from top to bottom. D got a fire going and then the McClains stopped over for a social distant beer and chat. It was a good time. After they left I put a third coat of poly on the handrail and desk and headed to bed.

20191231 + Good Bye 2019

20191231 + Up in the am and headed in to work for a little bit. Cory down to the office and Cory bought lunch for Lonie and I. We all bailed out a bit early and headed home to finish up 2019. LG&I to Canes for dinner, it was closed so on to Arby's. We had a nice meal and then headed home and wrangled up some friends for a last minute party. The Mallonns and McClains came over and we played games until 2020 arrived!

20191108 - Dinner with Friends

20191108 - Up in the am and L headed in to work and I took my time this morning as the boys were home from school. Got in to work and got some folks fired up asking to reduce the number of gifts we send out to customers this year trying to save $$$. L&I to the Barn to meet with Bill & Tiff and a handful of other friends for a surprise bday dinner for Tiff. It was a great meal and some good times. L&I ran to pick G and one of his buddies from their second party of the evening. We dropped the boys off at home and headed over to the McClains for a short after dinner visit. We had a nice time and got home in good time.

20190928 - Shoeless Crash

20190928 - Up in the am and L had already ran J&G to their schools to get the bus for the XC meet in London this morning. JGF3 showed up and she rode with L&I to the meet. We ran some errands on the way and then headed to the meet. We got there and got parked and waled about as far as the boys would run today. To the race field and got to see J's start, he was way out front. J had a good race and we didn't notice until afterwards that he ran almost the entire race with only one shoe! After a break it was G's turn to run. It was a very hilly course but G did well too. After the races we headed to D's baseball game in Wilmington. It was a good game, but D's team lost. We headed to DQ after the game to eat and D and his room mate joined us for a treat. Home and Bill and Tiff over and the 4 of us walked downtown to watch the first half of the Buckeye game. We headed home at halftime to discover that J in his haste to leave backed L's big whit car into the front of Bill's Jeep and scratched up the front corner... After we got J calmed down the McClain's left and we settled in to watch the rest of the game.

201900922 + 2nd Place and Picnic

201900922 + Up in the am and gave J instructions on what he had to get done today. LG&I headed to the baseball fields for G's game. We played a really good team and won the semi final that put us in the championship game. We had a short break and then we played int he championship. Our boys came out strong, but  errors in the 1st inning on defense puts us down 8-2. The boys fought back, G got his only hit of the weekend, but it wasn't enough and the boys got 2nd place in the tournament. I think I am done with baseball for a while... We headed home and got a hold of D letting him know we weren't going to make it to his scrimmage, all too tired from being out in the heat all day with G. Home and J&JGF3 were at the house and J's list of things to do was nowhere near done... I went out to the garage and scraped some paint off the walls and then headed to my company's 'Family Picnic' alone... Got to the picnic, ate, chatted with everyone and then headed home. Home and taped off the floor in the garage and then L&I put a coat of KILZ on the walls, IT LOOKS GREAT! Cleaned up, G at basketball. All home and JGF3 left. We chatted about expectations when we ask for something to be done... All to bed, J moving around until midnight, I watched the Browns lose.

20190917 - Damn Cone & Garage Floor

20190917 - up in the am and a bit different today, I dropped G off at school early so he could go to Bible Study. That got me in to the office early and on the run getting things done. Slammed through a bunch of things fast and got on the road. Stopped by the house to get J's car and then to the school to pick him up. J drove us down to Wilmington so he could take his driving test. J and the officer took of and before I knew it were back. They went through the maneuverability course and DING! J knocked over a cone... They came back in to the office and J passed the driving part with only 1 deduction, almost a perfect score and then we rescheduled to come back next week and try again... We swung over to the college to see D for a bit, J got to see his room and we visited for only a couple min before heading out. We went to Lowe's and picked up some painting supplies and then J drove me home. Home and I ate quick and then started preparing the garage. bill and Tom came over and we spent the evening epoxying the garage floor. It looks great! Exhausted, I woke up in the living room chair at 1am and crawled into bed. 

20190824 - Hills and Friends

20190824 - L up early and took G to meet the xc team at his school to ride bus to their meet. Up and J headed out with his driver. L&I to G's xc meet, the one with the big hill, know lots of folks there. G did really good ran a 13:13. We headed home and L ran to pick G up from xc and then took him to a bday party. J home and helped do some stuff around the house a bit while I was listing things on ebay. I got to meet J's girlfriend (JGF3) and wow she is pretty.  We had the McClains over for dinner and relaxed on the backporch. When J got home he J introduced JGF3 to everyone. We hung out until late having a good time.

20190726 - More Ads

20190726 - Up in the am and in to work, L dropped G off at XC. I stopped to fuel up the car on the way. In and caused my usual disruption. Dug in to stuff to finalize everything is good to go for next week. Finished up a bit late but confident things will be fine and headed home. Home got L&J and we dropped J off in Bexley with JGF2. L and I parked and went to a restaurant that was too fancy for her so we drove out Main St until she found something that suited her, Flavor 91 burger place. The food was amazing but the service was almost as slow as the Mifflin Inn... we rushed out after scarfing down our food and made it to Pickerington to pick G up from a bday party. Found my buddy Bill's car in the parking lot and decorated it a bit... Home and getting things in order for the trip. I installed another camera in the basement gameroom and then D home from a 10hr day, J home a bit after 11. All to bed expecting a busy day tomorrow.

20190704 + Busy Fun Day

20190704 + Up in the am and did a bit around the house. The McClains and Mallonns over in the am and we all walked downtown for the parade. We saw a lot of people we knew and had a good time. After the parade we headed home played cornhole for a bit, watched the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest and then headed down to Creekside for a nice lunch with the McClains, celebrating Bill’s bday. After lunch LG&I headed to the pool and hung out a couple hours. G&I has fun playing a catching game we made up. Home and the McClains and Gervais over for a cookout and to watch the fireworks, it was a great show this year, right over our front yard. In and shut down for the night ready for baseball tomorrow. 

20190602 - Championship Run

20190602 - Up in the am and D headed to a players house early, then L took off to D's game in Zanesville. JG&I loaded up and J drove us to Upper Arlington for G's day of bracket play. J rested in the car and G&I went to watch an 8U coach pitch game that had a son on the team of a lady I work with. We then headed to our field and got the game started. It was a rough game, against a team we had beaten easily twice before this year already, they wanted to beat us bad and played hard. In the end we were able to win and had to quickly change fields. J got us to the next game and the boys face a team that was 14-1 for the year so far, a REALLY GOOD team. The boys got themselves pumped up and pulled out a win! After a short break it was time for the championship game. L showed up and we got the game underway. the boys played hard and very well but the giants they were up against pulled off the win. Still was a great game and the boys got trophies for 2nd place out of 12. We headed home and Tom and Bill came over to discuss the weekend. G and his buddies played more wiffleball... Everyone cleared out and D got home and told us about his games. We then all headed to bed from a very busy baseball weekend.

20190509 + Rainy W

20190509 + Up in the am and dropped J off at school. In to the new office and then over to the old one for an all morning meeting that lasted all day... Finished the day and headed to G's game through some pretty heavy rain and horrible traffic. The 30 min drive took an hour tonight and I made it to the game just in time for it to start raining... we played anyway... Playing against New Albany Gold, that have spanked us by run ruled the last 2 times we met them, the boys fought hard in the rain and G got called to the mound when were down 5/4 and held them. The boys battled back and pulled off the win! Home and had leftovers and we slowed down for the night. D over to a friends and home late.

20190108 - Eagle Friends

20190108 - Up in the am and time for the boys to go back to school. I dropped J off and headed in to work. Have new software changes to test today. Had a busy day at work and then headed home. Home and L&I disassembled our bed, expecting a new mattress tomorrow afternoon while D&G were at the baseball place and J was running 4 miles... I ran to pick J up and then L&I headed to Westerville to an Eagle Scout Board of Review for Cameron Varney; HE DID IT! Cameron is now an Eagle Scout! Congrats! After the BOR L&I met DJ&G at O'Chaley's for a farewell dinner for D, he is heading back to school tomorrow. We had a nice dinner and them headed home to relax. G&I played a couple rounds of 'Mastermind' and then everyone to bed, L&I camped out on the floor for the night.
