20200831 - Hosting

20200831 - Up and started the week, boys online, L to school, got her hours cut today so she's NOT happy... I headed in to the office to have a meeting about a new special project in the afternoon and then back home to finish the day. Andy Reed showed up and we set up shop on the back porch and hosted a Booster meeting from there, we have about 40 folks show up online. It was a good meeting and then Andy stayed and we chatted for a couple hours.

20200830 - Fixin

20200830 - Up LATE and L gave me a haircut. J showed up and got some of his hair cut. I got some things organized and then headed out to the gas station, pick up auction items and then over to D's new place. D and some of his buddies helped me get the pocket doors working and come up with a plan to close off the other 2 openings in to his room. Home and unloaded the car, met a new neighbor in the process and brought things in. G home and he and L made us some dinner. We ate and then Jason & Luke Amos stopped by for a short visit. We wound things down and got ready for the rest of the week.

20200829 + They Have Worms

20200829 + Up in the am and L had dropped G off at school to go to his XC meet in Whitehall. I got up and around and L&I swung through the bank and then on to the XC meet. Hard to recognize people with masks on... G did good he got 9th out of a ton of kids and finished in 14:13. From there L&I went and picked up auction wins and headed home. We unloaded the good and I started fixing the neighbors cabinet door that he punched through... L ran and got G, J wandered in for a couple min and then ran some stuff to Goodwill for us. D showed up to get stuff for a party they are having tonight and split, L mowed. I hit the back porch to catch up on Booster stuff. Bill  & Tiff stopped by and L&I walked down to the Gahanna Grill and had dinner. We then walked over to Stadium, the new place, and had a couple drinks. Back to the house and hung out on the back porch with them and had a nice fun and relaxing evening. The neighbors next door decided to have a party so I stayed on the back porch updating the bog until 2:15 when I called them and told them it was time to shut down the party. I had some words across the fence with one of his thug friends and they shut down the party... TO bed, but fired up and couldn't get to sleep until 3...

20200828 - Couple Cute Movies

20200828 - Up and at the PC, J&G dong their online school. J left for lunch and G screaming on the xbox for lunch. L home and I finished my day. L&I headed out to the post office and picked up Arby's for dinner, they messed the order up... LG&I ate and then G retreated to the Xbox and L&I watched a couple cute movies as I worked on Booster stuff. Up to late on the phone.

20200827 + Back Rack

20200827 + Up in the am and headed in to the office. I met Lonie and D there and we cleaned out the crawl space in the office basement and then came up with a plan. D drove the company truck to Lowe's and we got some more heavy duty shelves. Back to the office and Lonie walked over to the pizza place and picked up our order while D&I carried the shelves down and got started. Courtland joined us for some pizza. We worked a couple more hours and then we headed out. I got home so L could go pick G up from XC and then I ran to a hitting lesson as Dbat. The lesson was good and G learned some things right off the bat. After the hitting lesson we came home and L, Lilly and I took a walk in a beautiful sunset before I sent out blasts about selling Booster ads. Up too late.

20200826 - D is 21!

20200826 - Up in the am late and L at work and J&G online at school. I got the pc and the day went crazy with questions coming in and troubleshooting and solving... The now on day 3 of homeschooling and seem to be doing ok and not complaining about it... The day went by in a flash and I finished up and got the grill going and helped L get some stuff ready. Soon D and a handful of his buddies showed up and we had a nice cookout and meal. D is 21 years old today! The boys hung out a bit and played some games and then headed out to do celebrate. We got the place cleaned up and relaxed the rest of the evening. A nice bday.

20200825 - Need Work

20200825 - Up in the am and L at work and J&G on their laptops doing school stuff.I got my day rolling with a long team call. J headed to a friends for lunch and G met Owen at Wendy's. J home and back on his pc and I headed to the back porch for the second half of the day. Finished up the day and then G&I ran to Academy Park for G's new team's first baseball practice, These boys need A LOT of work... Home and finished out the day.

20200824 + Nontraditional Start

20200824 + Up in the am and L getting boys up and on their laptops for their first day of school from home, this is so strange... No get your pic taking by the mailbox before heading to school, instead I got pics of their home classroom. I got my morning things done early and got the week started. I took a call and walked around the backyard barefoot and found 2 feathers and got stung on the foot by a bee... Boys seemed ok with the home schooling stuff as we all wrapped things up, J headed out with friends, L ran G to and from XC and had my desk on the porch. We had dinner outside talking with G and then some storms rolled through. I headed to Scouts to see if there were any advancements and get reimbursed for buying awards. Home and hanging out with L watching some TV, J and JGF5 stopped by. I stayed up late working on old blog post updates..

20200823 + Signature Piece

20200823 + Up in the am and doing things around the house and planning the day. Got the big white car started and ran it a bit and then headed over to Penn's to try the pressure washer again. We took the carburetor apart and cleaned it as our last attempt and POP she started up! Victory! I tested out the pressure on the driveway leaving my mark... Then headed to Vinnie's to drop off a solar kit and swing through the post office on the way home. Home and settled in on the back porch where I would spend the rest of the day doing Booster stuff, making baseball arrangements for G and his team and updating pics and old blog posts. G and some kids showed up for dinner, I took Lilly on a big walk through the baseball fields back at Jefferson and J got home late from work. Out on the back porch very late as it was a perfect night and no bugs.

20200822 + Bday Bat

20200822 + Up in the am and L doing things around the house, J home, showered and out fast to work, G upstairs. I got on the PC and did some more Booster stuff and blog updating. G frustrated looking for friends to hang with today. L&I headed out, post office, gas station, Container Store, Burger King for lunch, Target, Old Navy, Value City Furniture, Staples and Office Max where we finally found a lockable filing cabinet for D's bday. Swung through Kroger on the way home and got some groceries. Finally home and G had found some buddies and was riding around town. Gma&paW stopped by with presents for D, so D came home for a quick visit. Then L&I went to the Gahanna Grill with Gma&paW for a nice dinner. Back tot he porch for a bit and then I headed over to Penn's to work on his pressure washer, it has spark, it has gas flow, must be the carburetor so not going to tear that apart tonight. Back home and not up too late.

20200821 - My Grils

20200821 - Up in the am and L at work. I got to the desk and L came home to run G to school to pick up his laptop and then she headed back to work and G headed to the shed, I'm still trying to get J out of bed... L home for a bit and then headed to the dentist to get a temporary crown put on. She came home very soar. We hung out close to home the rest of the night, took Lilly on a nice walk and ended on the back porch for the evening.

20200820 - Half Day with G

20200820 - Up in the am and L at work. I checked email and had a call. J home from his friends, he swung through the high school to pick up his laptop for next year, home, showered and ran to work 20 min late... Came up with a last minute plan to do something fun with G so we got L to bring the car home and then we headed out for a putt-putt-a-palooza! Our first stop was Westerville Mini Golf, we have been here many times before and we played both courses and got our picture taken in the same spot we have in the past. G wanted me to try Top Golf so we went there next and it was a BLAST! On to the Olentangy Mini Golf where we played both courses and it definitely has the trickiest holes. From there we went to the Magic Mountain at Polaris for two more courses and these greens are mashed down, super fast and heard to play. On to the Texas Roadhouse for steak dinner and to tally up the points. We played 108 holes, had 15 hoe in ones and had a blast!  We swung by D's apartment on the way home and it was a bit sketchy... One last stop adn UDF to get some ice cream before making it home and checking in with L and telling her about the afternoon while we enjoyed our ice cream. G then headed for the xbox and L&I hung out on the back porch until late.

20200819 - Working Late

20200819 - Up in the am and had a couple calls and spent most fo the day building an app for the HR team to make finding employees easier. Came out and had some dinner with L and D stopped by after work for only a min. I then headed in to the office to meet Lonie and Hiren at 6pm. We dug in to the IT room and started cleaning it up while we waited for the time we could take the network down. 8pm rolled around and Lonie and Hiren took down the network and tried to get the new switch working, I kept cleaning. We did that until 11pm and then gave up, put the old equipment back in place and wrapped it up and out of there by midnight. LONG DAY!

20200818 - New JGF

20200818 - Up in the am and L at work and I was on calls all morning. G out int he shed and I woke J up and noon. L home and got the boys fed, I settled in for a day at the desk. J vanished and I cooked some pork chops on the grill for L for dinner. J showed back up and this time he had a girl with him! We chatted for a bit and then J and JGF5 headed out and I took Lilly on a walk. Home and hung out on the back porch wokring on old blog posts until late.

20200817 - Stability?

20200817 - Up in the am and L at work, D&G at friends and J in bed. I got my morning stuff done and got J up and headed in to my office to dig in to the day. L home with G and a bit later D and a couple of his buddies showed up, they had a brilliant plan... D wanted to move in with them, so L&I sat with them and talked about money and utilities and figured up total expenses and going back to school... It sounded like they thought it through so we blessed the idea dn told them to try it for a couple of months. I headed back in to the office and the boys moved stuff out of D's room and he was gone. J eventually got up and headed out with some friends. LG&I had dinner on the back porch. After L got dinner cleaned up we headed to Home Depot to get a runner for Lilly so she wouldn't slip on the hardwood floors and could get around the house. Home and watched TV and messed around on the PC until heading to bed. Couldn't sleep...

20200816 - Bar Builders

20200816 - Up late and L out with her girl friends, D at a friends, J in bed and G and his buddies the spent the night took off on their bikes. I hit the desk and swapped out AMEX cards to the free version. I got J up at 12 and 1, and he made it out the door at 1:57 to be at work at 2. Headed out to the garage to clean it up a bit and D and 3 of his friends showed up, they wanted to build a bar for their apartment. I helped them come up with a plan and we found them some wood they could use. They headed to Lowes to get some more wood and I ran to the post office and grocery store to get a ton of hot dogs. Home and G and 4 of his buddies showed up and were playing the backyard. D&I his friends came back with supplies and I helped them design, cut and assemble the bar. L made them cookies and cooked 24 hot dogs and of D&G's friends ate them up. I helped the boys get the pieces of the bar in D's car, they helped me cleanup and put the garage back in order. The big boys then took on the little boys in a very one-sided game of wiffle ball. The big boy headed out after delivering a beating and G's friends left and L ran G to one of their houses to spend the night. I hung out on the back porch the rest of the evening posting on ebay and watching Netflix as I got pics named and posted in the blog for June of 2018. In late L in bed and I waited up for J to get home from work at 10.

20200815 + New Fence

20200815 + Up nice and late and D&J already at work. L&I made plans for the day, got G up and headed to Home Depot. Chris Bowman met us there with his truck and took a couple fence panels home for us. L&I shopped and chatted with D a bit. Home and on the back porch planning the fence job and the sky dropped bucket in an instant. G and his buddies just left on their bikes and soon were back seeking shelter. They then played some wiffle ball. When D got home he helped me install the fence panels so the next door dogs won't see us on our patio and bark their brains out. Jo home from work all grumpy, D left to stay with some friends on campus and G had a couple of buddies spend the night. I got the boys on the back porch where they all beat me at Trouble. They were thrilled with themselves. J home, showed us some skateboard tricks and then headed to a friends to spend the night.

20200814 - Sad News

20200814 - Up late and on a call. L&D at work, J still at a friends and G up an don the xbox in the shed. I got my day rolling and got a bunch done. L home, J home and then back out. L ran G to XC and back. I moved my office to the back porch and got a call from the vet. Lilly's blood work is back and she is kidney failure, the marker for her kidneys should be no more than 14, she is at 81... I finished my day and G&I ran to get pizza for dinner. D home for a minute and then went to visit Drew, his buddy that's home from the Navy. L&I ran to the pet store in search of soft food, something Lilly will eat. Home and got Lilly to eat a bit and then I took her on a walk where we ran in to some neighborhood kids that wanted to pet her. I then ran in to a neighbor and we hung out and chatted a bit. Home and LG&I watched a movie.

20200813 + Plastic Fruit

20200813 + Up in the am and L ran to get groceries and then in to work. I did email and took a couple calls. Got the boys up, I have a job for them today, J left... had to go rewake D up and hour later, still no J. L home, gave D instructions and then headed to the Scout store. Got the awards and headed to Keith's house, one of my favorite co-workers to surprise him with more fake fruit for his bday. He loved it! Home, saw that J's car had been hit and looked at that with him. Checked out the electrical install the boys were working on and then got some more things done in the office. L&I took Lilly to the vet, they gave her a checkup, a couple of shots and took some blood. It was weird because we couldn't go in with her. Home and I finished up my day and then D&I finished running the electric for his AC. Still too far for the cord to reach but at least it is on its own circuit now. L cooked some dinner and LDG&I had dinner. After dinner I cleaned the garage, L relaxed, D vanished to his room, J went to a friends for the night and G headed to the shed.

20200812 - Back and Forth

20200812 - Up in the am and L got D up for work and he was not very pleasant... D headed to work, L headed to work. I got rolling and made sure J got up for work. G got up eventually and cooked himself lunch. I had calls all day until L got home and then took my office to the back porch and got a bunch done. L took G to XC, came home, had to run his leg brace to him, home, waited a bit and then picked him up. D&J home, I grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill and we all had dinner. No walk with Lilly today, she is too tired and weak... LG&I watched the new Scooby Doo movie in the basement, while D hung out in his room and J went thrifting. L&I watched another movie and then headed up for the night. Everyone home and and to bed. Stayed up too late on my phone.

20200811 + Slow Walk

20200811 + Up in the am and L off to school and J off to what and wherever he wants to. I got on the PC and got the day rolling. L got home and ran G to XC. J showed up for a minute to change and then headed to work. L made dinner and LDG&I ate together. D then headed to Top Golf with some friends and G headed out to the shed with his electronics. L&I took Lilly on a shorter walk today and ran in to one of her old students and the little girl and her brother loved all over Lilly. I found a feather on the walk so for whatever reason this is all supposed to be happening...

We got home and watched some TV. J home late, but in a good mood. D home later, Top Golf was too busy so they ended up bowling. We headed to bed and at 2am I had to go out and stop G from screaming in the shed and have him come in.

20200810 - Guarding Her Yard

20200810 - Up in the am and L at work and I got on the PC in the living room to approve time and get the week started. J got up and wanted to head out for the day. I reminded him he had XC and then he lost his mind, so I told him he had to choose, SC or Scouts, he needs some sort of organized events to get him out of the house and with a group/team. L came home to intervene and he ended up gong to XC. D came down eventually and I realized he was supposed to be at work at 9:30, but he just didn't go in...  another battle... L cooked and we all ate together, which was tense.  After dinner L&I took Lilly for a slow walk around the block. She made it but just barely. We then hung out on the back porch until L wanted to go get some ice cream, so we did that and passed Wendy's on the way back to the house where G and all his buddies had their bike piled all over their sidewalk. Home and had some of our snack. Called GpaW as today is his bday and he was out to eat with a group of friends. Finished the long day and headed to bed.

20200809 + Slippery Pick

20200809 + Up nice and late and got set up on the back porch. L out shopping with Nicole and Lena. I got the boys up and D helped me get the big old white car started, J vanished, G fixed the tarp roof on the playset before heading out with his friends. I spent a lot of time on the details of G's baseball options and made many calls to future and past coaches and the other dads. L came home and we chatted for a bit and then crazy Dave showed up and we hung out on the back porch for a couple hours catching up. D brought the gun he made out to show him and then he headed over to a friends new apartment to help them put some furniture together. G and his buddies showed up with soap from the dollar store and made another slip and slide, they are fun to watch while chatting and sipping beers. Dave left and I continued my eval process to pick a baseball team for G. L&I got some feedback from him and went ahead and signed him up with the Arsenal USA Ohio team. It is a bit out of the way and may not have all the bells and whistles we were looking for, but he will be playing with a group of about 5 friends that all have great families, so it should be good. In for the night and watched a bit of TV with L until J&D got home and headed to bed.

20200808 + Visit and Light

20200808 + Up in the am and L made chicken and rice for Lilly as she hasn't been eating... I hung out on the back porch a bit and planned the weekend. G got an offer from the tryout last night so now we have to decide where we are going... L ran to the store, D helped me start the generator and sliced his fingernail pretty bad.  When L returned she patched D up and I headed over to Penn' and we re-evaluated the pergola and wiring job. We headed to Home Depot, He got a stack of stuff and I got a stack of stuff for our projects. We headed back to his house, with a stop to pic up my prescription, and had some lunch. Gma&paW called, they were at Creekside with Russ & Nancy so I headed home and LDJG&I walked to meet up with them. We hung out at the Barrel & Boar for a bit and then walked over to Cold Stone. It was a nice visit and not to terrible hot. Took some teaxts and a call about G's baseball for next year. Russ & Nancy headed home and Gma&paW stopped by the house to have me look at a PC issue. Got that fixed and they headed out. LD&I headed over to Mallonn's and got to work on the electrical project. Some of the steps were harder than expected, but we stuck with it and got everything connected. When we flipped the breaker it didn't trip and we were in business. We had dinner there and hung out admiring the new lights a bit before heading home. More calls and texts about G's baseball to finish out the day.

20200807 + 4th Tryout

20200807 + Up in the am and L&D at work. I took my PC on the back porch with Lilly this morning and did some things and had a call with Jason, Rob and Lonie. It was a meeting to tell Lonie that he won the 'DataField Quarterly Outstanding Associate Award'!!! He was very surprised and honored. We chatted for a bit and then I headed in and got J&G up and then on to more work. I spent the day on the back porch getting things done and then G and 3 of his friends showed up. They wanted to get out tarps and soap and make a slip and slide, so they did. I watched from the porch as the boys set the tarps up, knew they way they were doing it wouldn't work, but let them try it and when the first boy slid and went under the second tarp they quickly made the adjustment and were off slipping and sliding. They had a blast and it was fun to watch. J took off to be with friends, L got home, D got home, I finished my day and then G&I headed downtown to Berliner for another baseball tryout. G did great in the field and ok hitting. I sat with Chris Bowman and we chatted the whole time about how everything went down and future possibilities. G&I headed home, stopped at Wendy's to get some dinner, saw one of J's buddies working there. Home and ate and then L&I watched a show before heading to bed. J got home from poker and told us of his winnings.

20200806 + 3rd Tryout

20200806 + Up in the am and L headed to work for meetings and a trip to the dentist to get her broken tooth looked at, she is getting a crown on 8/21. I got on some calls and did email. J headed out to skateboard with some friends and I got D&G up at noon. G got an offer from the TNT tryout last night... Spent the rest of the day at the desk. L came home and told me of her schools plans to start up and it is sounds like it is going to be a challenge... D&G went hitting a bit int he afternoon and when I got done G&I headed to Big Walnut HS for his tryout with the Arsenal. Jason, Clint and Cory were there with their boys and a they brought a couple other kids to and the Gahanna boys dominated the tryout for the second night in a row. The guy that runs that Arsenal program told G 'I haven't seen anyone at any age play short like that for a long time.' The 15U coach asked G if he wanted to play up and the 14U coach said 'Your son is an an amazing short stop. We were all just watching him and everyone was like look how smooth his hands are, and I was like forget his hands look at his feet and how he just glides to the base.' All the boys got offers before we left. We headed home and swung through Cane's to get G some dinner and then home to eat. My phone went crazy with folks texting about the tryout and we think we're all going to the Arsenal, but G has one more tryout tomorrow. L&I stayed up and watched 'White House Down' before heading to bed.

20200805 + 2nd Tryout

20200805 + Up slow and L busy doing things. I did some email in the living room and then got the boys up and headed to the office. D&G went to pick up Luke for some hitting practice. J hung out around the house until he left to hang out with some friends. Finished my day up and G&I ran out to the Gahanna varsity baseball field for a tryout with TNT. G was happy a bunch of his buddies were there and he did really well tonight. I hung out with the dads and we are formulating a plan to try and keep the 4-6 boys together. Would be a good group of kids and all nice parents. After tryouts Jason and Luke came to our house and we chatted about possibilities and had some pizza on the back porch. Jason also talked to D about helping with his 17U team next year.

20200804 + 1st Tryout

20200804 + Up in the morning and D went in to my work for some training today, L got a strange call from the G's Principle, prompted by the Superintendent, about a TikTok video G and some of his friends posted... L&I got things cleaned up and the account deleted and G wrote a little report today about the subject so he knew why it was not a good choice... I headed to the lab to have blood drawn and then at the desk the rest of the day. Finished up my day and G&I headed downtown to Berliner for a baseball tryout. G was one of the smallest kids out there. He did great fielding but not good at bat so he did not get an offer... Home and hung out with L working on Booster stuff and then took a bunch of calls and texts trying to arrange baseball tryouts and a team for G next year.

20200803 + 1st Boosters Zoom

20200803 + Up slow in the am not wanting to go back to work. L up and out on a walk, cleaned up and picking up groceries while I get caught up on email. It was a long day of catching up for us while we get back in to the groove of working and being at home with things we have to get done. As the day ended everyone but D gathered at the table for dinner and we had a good meal. After dinner Andy showed up and we got the Zoom meeting set up on the back porch. Tom & Bill swung by for a beer and to chat until the meeting started. We have 30 folks join us online for the first ever Boosters Zoom meeting, it went very well. After the meeting Andy hung around and we chatted about baseball and how crazy all this is. In and wrapped up for the night and to bed late.
