20211014 - G & Bathroom Pics

20211014 - Up in the am and LJ&G at school. I jumped on calls and stayed on them until I left to meet Rob for lunch at Pies and Pints for some AWSOME wings. It was a nice lunch. Home and back to the desk. Getting a lot done on the new project. Finished the day late. Threw the ball to hazel and bit, had to wash her feet as the yard is muddy from L spreading grass seed and watering it down. G brought dorky pics home from school today. We had some dinner. L ran G to his xc dinner. L put the finishing touches on her bathroom. I ran over to the Mallonn's to help them with an electrical issue. L&I cut some more of Hazels hair and we got some talking buttons for her, we'll see how that goes... Up late watching baseball with G.

20211009 + Green?

20211009 + Up in the am and L ran to Home Depot to get paint for the bathroom. I got around and headed to the back yard. I replaced the mower deck engagement cable, took off the deck and sharpened the blades. I then removed some pavers from the patio and cut out roots that were making things shaky. I had the Buckeye's game on while I finished up and mowed the back yard during half time. L got a couple coats of paint on and we finished the game on the porch on a beautiful day. L headed back in for more painting and I ran to Kroger and picked up some brats, macaroni salad, Doritos and Corona and limes, and carrot cake and pumpkin pie for dinner, one of my favorite meals. Home and I cooked the brats while L finished up and we ate on the porch watching some football. J home and L ran G to a friends for a bday party. I got the laptop out and started getting caught up on some things on the porch with football on.

20211002 - Best Pizza EVER

20211002 - Up in the am and g at a xc meet but not running and L finishing up and cleaning up the bathroom. I got around and shipped some ebay stuff. Home for a sec and then Hazel and I went to pick G up. Home and J was heading out to sell some clothes. L finished up the bathroom and i got the threshold and do put back on. It looks great (but we need a new door now). I got my stuff together and hand headed to the back porch to watch some football and order shaving supplies for the boys, tape for ebay and a new cable for the mower. A dad of one of G's friends has started a little pizza business in his backyard. He has a little wood fired pizza oven and sends a text out asking people what they want and their pickup options. G has been to their house and had the pizzas and raved about them. We missed his first date because we went to a football game. But this time we had our order in and I got the text that it was our turn to come and pickup. G, Hazel and I ran to his house, checked out his setup and chatted with him while he cooked our pizzas. It only took a couple min and we headed home with the pies. Home and ScottH was at the house, his wife was out of town for the weekend and we headed to the back porch. G had a couple of buddies over and we all had some pizza while the Buckeye game got under way. Let me tell you something about these pizzas, THEY ARE THE BEST PIZZAS I HAVE EVER HAD. L said the same thing. They were AMAZIN, the kind of meal you eat one bite at a time and just savor the flavors as long as you can. UNREAL! Anyway we watched the Buckeyes beat the pants off of Rutgers and then the exciting end to the Oregon game. Scott took off and we headed in. L had to wash Hazel's feet as she had been chasing the ball from 2pm to 10pm and her legs were black. in and more football on as we hung out for the rest of the night. To bed and couldn't sleep. Last look at clock 4:37...

20210929 - Buttoning Up

20210929 - Up in the am and LJ&G at school. I jumped on a call that went for hours. I finished my day and headed to the baseball field for a parent only meeting. The coaches asked where G has been during the open fields. Saw lots folks there I knew. Home and L has everything painted and I installed the lights and outlets. Hazel and I cleaned up the garage and pulled the car in. Headed to bed and started couching…

20210928 - Reflection

20210928 - L & Hazel ran G to MSE for a XC event. L home and got the grout done around the shower and window while I got the mirror hung, trim on top of the wainscot on the N&E. I got the holes cut for lights and outlets and the toilet installed!

20210927 - Every Pipe

20210927 - Up and a busy Monday. In the evening L&I got the sink put together and installed in the bathroom. I took me hours and every pipe I had to get it installed and plumbed in. Hazel was a big help...

20210926 - Pick Up Game

20210926 - Up and did a bit in the bathroom. Chris Bowman picked G up and took him to fill in for a baseball game. L, Hazel and I got to a stopping point and went and watched G play a bit. Home and L&I ran to CVS to get cough stuff for me and readers for her. On to Home Depot to get some paint and plumbing supplies. Home and we got the wainscot put in. I did a couple more things in the bathroom and we grilled dinner. Ate, cleaned up the garage, did some stuff on the PC.

20210923 + Window Worker

20210923 + Up and worked in the bathroom. I needed a special tool so hit up some friends to see if they had a 1/4" trim router. Bill Varney did and he and Maria dropped it off and stayed and chatted for a bit. Maria just got a BIG promotion! I used Bill's tool and L got tile around the window done.

20210921 - More Mud

20210921 - Up in the am and J&G at school and L home with her shingles again today. I got rolling and had a call. Hazel and I took a short walk. J got home and I ran to pick up taxes. Back to the office and I got busy on an unplanned frustrating day. Got in the bathroom and mudded some more.

20210911 - Cool Dudes

20210911 - Up later in the am and we checked out. We checked our bags with the bell hop and so we didn't have to carry them around all day and headed out. We caught the bus north and stopped a couple places J saw the last couple days that he wanted to revisit. We then took a break from the heat and found a sports bar in a casino where we watched the end of the OSU Oregon game. OSU lost, BUT, because the $20 sport wager I placed had the best chance to profit if the Ducks won and I bought a 'Oregon to Win' ticket, I turned my $20 in to $110!!! We headed back out in the heat and caught the bus to the las Vegas sign where we found a local that took us past the line of folks waiting to get their pics taken and got pics for us. 

Back to the hotel, got our bags and hung out in a sport bar for a bit. I headed out and cashed out all my chips and sport tag. We then walked through to Mandalay Bay to kill some time and caught an Uber to the airport. 

We headed there early because we didn't know what traffic was going to be like, or security at the airport and didn't want to miss our flight. In hindsight we could have found a couple more places to explore and still had plenty of time. We found some neck pillow and got to the gate and just waited and watched people. We got ton the plan at 10pm PST and will wake up in Columbus.

Back at home L got the bathroom grouted today and G had a XC meet that he went down with some boys last night and spent the night and went out for a team dinner. He came in 31st out of 300+ runners in the JV race!

20210908 - Bathroom Balloons

20210908 - Up and G home sick again. I had a busy morning at work. J home early. Hazel and I took quick walk. L home and took G to the Dr. He doesn’t have strep and we have to wait 24hrs for his COVID test results… I finished my day and L&I got a bite and then started tiling the bathroom. 5 hours later we had a tile floor! J home late. He asked JGF6 to Homecoming by filing her bedroom with balloons.

20210906 - Durock

20210906 - Up and straight in to the bathroom. Finished putting new sub floor down. L picked G up from friends sleep over. L ran to D's championship game, he was assistant coaching. I got the cement board measured and measured and measured and cut. L home we ran to Home Depot to get thin-est. got speed thin-set that I think may have hardened too fast... hope it doesn't mess up all our work. Got the Durock cement board in.

20210905 + Subfloor

20210905 + Up and right in to bathroom and removed the floor around toilet and rebuilt the subfloor. It took all day... Gma&paW stopped by for a visit. L&I ran to Home Depot and got hopefully everything else we need for the bathroom project.

20210821 - 1st Varsity Run and NO Dew

20210821 - Up in the am and L&I headed to G's 1st Varsity XC Meet. G ran Varsity as a freshman and came in 242 out of 375, not bad for a freshman! Home and D brought my drill back and helped with some rafters in the bathroom. D took off and LG&I got the drywall up and I got fan and light installed. I tried out the fan when I took a shower and there was no moisture on the mirror! 1st time in 20 years! Hazel and I ran up to our newly remodeled and just reopened Burger King to get dinner for L&I. Mallonns over for a nice visit while G was at big soccer event at the high school and then to Burnworth's for the night.

20210817 - Venting

20210817 - Up in the am and a normal day. Boys home from school and then J went to his first concert, I mean BIG concert to see Interrupters, Weezer and Fall Out Boys and Green Day. G was lucky and got to help me drill a hole through the exterior wall for the bathroom vent. We got the ladders out and got the outside part installed just as it started raining. J home from the concert and blah blah blah talked about how amazing it was ;-)

20210815 - Yellow Wires

20210815 - UP late in the am and made a trip to Home Depot to get a 4 1/4" hole saw for the bathroom vent. L got some more done in the bathroom and i got some electric ran. I waited up for J to help cement in the bees, he didn't want to help...

20210726 - Destruction Crew

20210726- Up in the am and ran to get blood drawn. Home and J at work, L ran to get G from his buddy's house and then she started doing the next step on her bathroom project and I got on the PC. G headed to the pool and had a normal day. At the end of the day Ed, G's coach for next year showed up and we went to the OEB tryout so he could see some of the kids. G didn't go so it was a bit awkward... We didn't stay long, Ed met Bill and Chris and we watched a bit and headed home. Home and hung out with L watching Olympics.

20210723 - Demo Day

20210723 - Up early and in to the office. A guy that was a key player in the meeting and supposed to be there texted and said he wouldn't make it, so I called and fired him. Meeting happened and took all day. Good progress, finding lots of things that need fixed... Home in good time and hung out with L for a bit, and she showed me her demo work for the day before we ran to pick up pizza for dinner. Home and ate and D showed up. One of the tires on his car has been losing air for a month, so he's going to take our car to Massilon for softball tomorrow. D hung out and ate, chatted with us and watched some of the Olympic opening ceremonies. G home from the pool and ate and hung out too. J home from work, D took off and G headed upstairs. I woke L up so she could se the USA folks march in and the final pieces of the opening before heading to bed.

20210722 - Final Tryout

20210722 - Up in the am, feeling better today. L took Hazel on a walk and then started working on her bathroom demo. J left the house at 6am to go to Wendy's and G went to XC this morning. I hit the desk and am trying to get caught up from being out of pocket for 3 days. I got a bunch done and was glad to be working from home, except for all of L's banging around in her bathroom demo... I finished my day up a bit early and G&I headed up to Olentangy for a tryout. This tryout was for the Arsenal, G's current team, and G lead the warm ups and stretching. There weren't as many kids there as we thought would show up, but some good ones. Chris, Bill and I had to help with the tryout. It was a good tryout and a couple kids committed right away. G got an offer and I think this is where he will land. G&I headed home and picked up some gas and Arby's on the way. Home and not up too late as I'm not 100% yet.
