20110127 - Spring Day

20110127 - Up and out to bfast w/ Lee & Richard. Then off to our first customer visit. The guys was late so we hung out in front of the building in crystal blue skies and a perfect 66 degrees; like a spring day in OH. We headed in and gave our presentation and it went well. Over to a book store, joined by Steve, to kill some time and then lunch. Off to customer #2. It also was a good visit. We ended this visit by introducing the customer to geocaching!

Off to the airport and ANOTHER meal... Into the lounge to wait for the red-eye flight home. Checked in w/ L, her and the boys had a good day.

20110126 - Planes to CA

20110126 - Up and at the desk all morning for some calls. Then got a good send off from L&G. Caught my flights to SFO and met up with Richard. We headed south to San Jose and met up with Steve for a huge steak dinner. I introduced Richard to geocaching int the dark and think he's hooked. Off to the hotel.

100204 - Jack GOOD! Presentation & Flights

100204 - Jac had a Dr. appointment as a follow up to his surgery today.  Everything looks great, he is release back to full activity (watch out, her he comes!!!).
Up early and met with Tom & Lee that both have me seriously outdressed today looking dappper in their sport coats. We got to P in San Jose and they were expecting not so much in person but on a call. Good thing we were there as we gave a killer presentation.
Got done and headed to the airport where I jumped an earlier flight and hope to get home yet today before the snow shuts Columbus down. Now to Dallas!

100203 - Slides & Caches

100203 - Up in the am, bfast w/ Lee and then we worked on slides for tomorrows presentation all morning. We took a lunch break and went for a walk to see if we could find some caches. First one found fast.


We took a moment to admire the view across the San Francisco Bay, watch the planes land and see the city across the water.


With no time to waste we had to take a very long detour to get to the next cache, a tricky one hanging around. But we found it.


Back to work after the fun and finished up. Tom and I ran the rental car back to the airport and Lee picked us up to take us to dinner.
L calledand she had a good but stressful day getting the Winger team suited up and to the OSU basketball game tonight. She at one point lost all 3 boys when they did not return from making the tunnel for the team... But all boys found and the bucks won so a good time.
Lee, Tom and I went to Kincade's for dinner and each of us had and outstanding meal. We rolled out of the resturant and back to the hotel ready for the big day tomorrow.

100202 - Make it simple

100202 - Up for a 7am call and non-stop until 7pm: redefining a definition I have redefined many times in many directions... Tom and Lee sit here in our mobile office. A nice dinner at the Elephant Bar and back to the room to see the season premier of LOST!!!

090221 - Best of it

090221 - Up and in to the office for another day of testing. Elizabeth went out to get lunch for all of us and the Guys took the opportunity to have some fun. These are the people that I was stuck with in a room for 14 hours a day for the last week, Josue, Glenn, Jeremy, Lee, Ahndi & I. This was a fun moment and the rest of the weeks had some good times of throwing food, water bottles and side splitting laughter. Thank God we were able to keep our cool under so much pressure and keep the atmosphere light with such a cloud over us. We finished the day very late, midnightish and then Ahndi and I hit Denny's again. Ahndi had 2 full grand slam breakfasts and ate every bite! Back on the home front Dylan had a basketball game where he said he shot the ball more, bu they still got beat bad. He has only one game left and I am hoping to make it!

090220 - Up early in to work. Testing all day. Not going so good...

090219 - Up and another smashing day at the customer. The Guys in Holland are making great progress and the testing is going better, but the customer is not so happy and tension is still very thick. Took a break to call GmaW today as she was presented with an award as a Distinguished District Leaders at a lunch that GpaW attended too. When i talked to her she was trying to get GpaW to take her to dinner to celebrate, I think she won. L & the boys had a full day too and ended up at the Spaghetti Dinner at Jefferson, where Grant ate a full adult serving... then home for some popcorn and a movie.

090218 - Up early in to work. Testing all day. Not going so good...

090217 - Up early in to work. Testing all day. Not going so good. Talked 2 L, the fam had a busy day & the house was loud. Finished up @ work 9:30, then to Denny's w/ Ahndi.

090216 - UAT

090216 - No school 4 boys, they had a good day. The first day of UAT was spent mostly on set up and review. I gave a demo of how things go by doing a happy path transaction. The folks around the table, Glenn (you can see his hands), Elizabeth, Jeremy, Josue, my big screen, Ahndi and Lee. Then the customer started with their test scripts. UGH, things did not go well. We were there from 9am to 8:30pm. When the dust settled Ahndi and I headed to Denny's to access the internet and review the day. The Holland team is gearing up as we get some rest.

090215 - Up in the Am and hanging out with the family. I am pretty nervous about the upcoming trip and L is as well. I don't want to go, don't think things are ready, L doesn't want the stress of a week alone with the nutters... The whole fam took me to the airport, which is getting harder and harder to actually get out of the car... But off I go, through Chicago to San Fransisco. Got there fine and was able to find Ahndi. We jumped in the car and found a steakhouse and had the best meal we would have all week. We then headed to San Jose and got settled in to the hotel.

080424 - Lunch

080424 - Here we have some interesting specimens... Hans, the Goleum looking dude, is a damn good developer w/ us. He has saved my ass many many times & loves American women. Ben, the 'hell-a-good' supporter in the middle & Lee my partner in crime. Here they are enjoying a good Chinese buffet! We have worked far too late every night this week, handing our issue off to the Almere team that has really pulled through and fixed whatever we found each night and gave us good news every morning. We are now in really great shape with probably the best organized effort I have seen thus far, and ready for whatever the customer is going to throw at us.
I have been talking to L each night and everyone is doing well. She said Howdy had a great Karate midterm and the instructors all were impressed with his progress and especially his weapons. He is exceptionally amazing w/ the nunchucks. L said she was really proud of him. Really wish I would have been there...
Now I'm in San Jose getting ready for a red-eye home, a short work day and then up to the farm to get everything set up for the maple syrup event this Saturday.

080408 - Shushi

080408 - Up late, as the Dytch feel they don't need to update clocks when day light savings time occurs... Full day of work, then out for shushi.
080407 - Up too early and on a jet to CA. Got there about noon, hit a chinese buffet then worked the rest of the day.

080221 - Red eye

080221 - Getting ready to board an all night flight to Atlanta. Lori says bad weather at home. Hope I can get home tomorrow.

080205 - In to work and doing the usual. Checked in w/ L and poor Jack still has his fever :-(

080205 - Up, ready to go to the office. Blue skies today in CA
080204 - Up at 4:30, and three flights later arrived in San Jose at 2:00pm local time. Very long trip. To the office, did some work and then hit Applebee's. back to Arno & Gwen's for conversation & rest.
Jack finally broke his fever, Howdy had karate, and Lori had to get off the phone quickly as Grant was chasing his brothers with a wooden stick.

070823 - Had a good day at work, got a lot done. Went home with Lee because he was going to take me to SFO tonight. BUT... I guess ORD had tornados today.... and I'm stuck in CA ... Lori had a bad day and is at her wits end... not such a good day afterall...

070817 - Redeye

070817 - Good couple days in San Jose. My flight out on SJC was cancelled tonight so they drove me to San Fransico to catch the redeye to Detroit. Should be home about 10 tomorrow...

070814 - In SJC

070814 - Up way to early and off to the airport. Landed in SJC & off to work. Had a couple hour of good work and the a LONG walk home w/ Arno. Off to Applebee's for dinner. The boys made it home and had a BLAST w/ Gma & pa W today. All home safe and sound.
