20181015 - Bible Bangers

20181015 - Up in the morning to a gray rainy mess. J&G didn't have school today so I took my time getting into the office. I took a couple boxes of stuff from the garage to put on the free stuff table and started the morning. Had an IT meeting first thing and progress has been slow with an unexpected twist this morning. It was a gray rainy mess all day and I couldn't really get started. Managed to get some things done today and headed out a bit late. Home and sat with the fam, J&G home all day from school for whatever reason... Up and out the door for the Boosters annual coaches dinner. The dinner was nice and many coaches recognized myself and other new board members for all the improvements since we have taken over. After the meeting I ran home, got doc and headed to Bible Bangers. After the meeting I dropped Doc off and headed to Meijer to grab a couple of things for G to open in the morning.

20170320 + Boys @ Bible Bangers

20170320 + Up in the am to a very quiet house.  In to work for a normal Monday.  Headed home to have dinner with LJ&G, D was at DGF7's.  After dinner we watched a movie while I got a couple of things done for work.  JG&I picked up Doc and headed to Bible Bangers, D met us there  We had a snack and looked at Doc's awards, he was recently inducted in to the Central State College Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in Track, the cross country team he was on won nationals in 1966.  Home and all boys to bed.  Up late on the PC.

20160411 - Come Back

20160411 - Up in the am and to Waffle House for a 'Directos Meeting'. I LOVE meetings at Waffle House, steak & eggs! Then in to the office for a day of email and catchup. Home for a yummy 'Shake & Bake' pork chop dinner. Then DJ&I headed tonScouts where I got a ton done. Home and talked to L, a teacher friend of hers stopped by to chat tonight, I made a couple calls and then got Doc for Bible Bangers. We had a great conversation about 2nd baptisms (they arn't necessary). As we we're talking a man walked up to our table and said 'Do you remember me?', my great memory didn't allow me to answer, but a couple of the others did. He continued 'Back in December I was in here and heard you talking. I stopped by and asked you to pray for my mother Mary that was having an operation the next day. I wanted to stop by and let you know that the surgery was successful. She got out of the hopital right before Easter and is doing well, she can't walk yet, but she is getting better every day. Thank you for praying for her. The power of prayer works." We thanked him for letting us know and welcomed him to come back to the 'Church of the Golden Arches' anytime. He thanked us again turned and left. How awesome is that?! 

20160201 - Listen

20160201 - L got me up at 5 to exercise, YAWN. Got ready for work and headed out. In to work to complete chaos. Had to run over to the old building for a walk through with the owners to see what else we need to do for cleanup before the final walk through. Worked a crazy hectic day and then ran home and straight to Scouts with J. D at baseball and L&G at basketball practice. Home at 8 to watch the X-Files, Jack got a ride home. After X-Files I got Doc and we headed to a good night at Bible Bangers. 

20160104 - Banger Boys

20160104 - L got me up early again for our workout, I thought we got Monday off :-s Down to the basement and workout done, ready for work and headed in. L in to work as well so the 3 boys are home alone this morning... L&G went to a movie and at the end of the movie G was crying because his body hurt. L got him home and he has a fever of 101.5 :-( Freezing cold day at work drinking way too much water. Finished the day and headed home. Home and ate, sorted some xbox games then D drove me to his Eagle Project review at Starbucks. Home and I got Doc and headed to Bible Bangers.

20130805 - I AM FAST!

20130805 - Up in the am and to work. L got the drains snaked so all flowing again... Home for a quick change and then to G's baseball practice. They had an odd number of players running a relay, so I jumped in and showed my speed. It was a lot of fun. Legs sore and to D's baseball practice. I ran the bases while L cackled in the background and the kids tried to get me out.  Home and then the boys and I grabbed Doc and we headed to Bible Bangers for a late night snack.

100925 + Games Caches & Knights

100925 + Up and out to D's baseball game with G. D was up twice and got two hits: a single & a double! L&J to J's soccer game. J is playing more offense and likes it, but no goal today. All home for lunch, then back out... JG&I headed to the office supply store and then went hunting for and found the next 2 geocaches closest to our house.


L&D got groceries. We all met back home again to watch to OSU game and eat snacks.
After the game DJ&I headed to our Raising a Modern Day Knight, Back to School dinner; there were 15 of us! We ordered the pizzas and then D gave his presentation on Knighthood, he's did very well.


The pizzas came and as we ate the Dads told stories of when we were kids in school and our memories and fears. I then gave a short presentation on how all the boys there were Pages and what we expected of them. I presented each boy with a composition notebook and related the pages in the books to the events/pages of their lives. I had a special present for J, I got him a leather composition notebook cover with his name pressed into it. It is really nice and will last him a lifetime. At this time the keynote speaker showed up, Doc.



Doc came in and talked to the boys about his life growing up and how the boys should act to become successful men. The all absorbed everything he had to say. It was a very successful event! Home and all boys to bed.

100515 + Dad's commitment Ceremony

100515 + UP in the morning and doing some things around the house.  I ran J to a birthday party then home for lunch with the rest of the gang.  We then packed up and LDG&I headed to D's baseball game.  I took G with me to go pick up J from his party and L worked in the concession stand.  Back to the game, I got to see D get a base hit and then I relieved L at concession stand duty.  I was not there long as the 'Mercy Rule' came into affect and D's team was 15 runs behind in the 4th inning...
L took the boys home and I went with Brian to Meijer to get supplies for Jack's party tomorrow.  Back home and fixed D's machine gun.  D shot Jack in the finger with machine gun so i had to take it away...  Had some beers with Brian and then got ready for the RMDK ceremony.

All the Bible Banger dads and their sons here for the ceremony.  We had a nice fire in the backyard and our leader said some nice words.  We then each had to say something to each one of our sons to let them know how proud of them we are an how much we love them.  I did the best I could but by the time I got to Jack I started blubbering and could barely make it through what I had to say...  Dylan made me cry even worse.  I have such hopes and love these boys so much.  The next part of the presentation was where we as a family held on to a sword and promised to our sons that we would raise them as knights.  At the end of the ceremony each boy was presented with a dagger.  It was a really nice ceremony and I hope the boys remember it forever, I know I will.

100514 - Work all morning and then bailed out to have lunch and look at a house w/ Jeff & Ed.  Home and finished my day, D mowed back and L mowed rest.  We hung out at home tonight getting ready for a busy weekend and watched the second half of 'Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind'.  Jack was a bit freaked out, especially when after I put them to bed and I started playing the tones to call the spaceships in the playroom.  hahahahaha!

091230 - To Friends Houses

091230 - Up and getting more stuff done around the house.  We worked on D's final coats of paint and then D went to his friend Seth's house and the rest of us hung out.  Later this evening I took D&J with me to my friend Chris' house to help him set up his new Blue Ray player and surround sound system.  What should have been pretty easy hook up took us 5 hours and two trips to Meijer...  D&J did good the first couple of hours and Karen, Chris' wife played games with them until 10pm then she drove them home.  We persevered and by midnight we had a fully tuned and functioning system!  Chris was happy :-)
L got the boys to bed in one room as G or D can't be in the room being painted due to fumes.  So they are one big happy family and Grant LOVES IT!!!

091219 - Doc's Clubhouse

091218 - Up EARLY w/ the 3 screamin demons... Hans & Champaign joined us fo bfast and then East to Philadelphia and a couple of snow storms. I tried makinging a DVD of our wedding VHS; that didn't work out so good...
Chris & Jeff over and we headed into the hood downtown to Doc's Clubhouse, the ultimae man cave! We met up wit Doc, Rodney, Tim & Brent there for some holiday cheer, ribs, deer sausage, liver round and other stuff we weren't brave enough to eat...





Home for dinner and some Jenga and dancing, topped off with a run to Dairy Queen. Boys to bed and wrapping and a movie. A quick jump start to the neighbors car and another day done.

090808 - Dan's 40!

090808 - Nice easy morning. J&G helped me spray the poison ivy again. Then L&D headed out to D's baseball practice while JG&I headed to Dan Shupe (one of the Bible-bangers) 40th bray party @ Friendship park. L&D met us at the party after practice. Home & D split off w/ one of his friends to go to the skate park. G down for a nap, J fell asleep on me watching a movie in the basement & L made cushions for her new glider... When D came home we packed up and are now at a Columbus Clippers game.
090807 - Fast and furious Friday... Bailed out a couple minutes early to go see the new G.I. Joe movie with D&J: G was NOT happy to be left behind... The movie was really good and full of action and cool special affects. D,J&I grabbed some fish and chicken at Long John's and then home for some catch and play time with G&L.
090806 - Work and J,G&I took D to his first baseball practice for the Fall season.
