20260124 + Tommy's 49

20260124 + Up at 5:30am and couldn't go back to sleep. Up and had some coffee with L and then prepping the bedroom for some work in there today. Heading out to drop off a shipment, get some stuff at Home Depot, gas in L's car and pick up auction wins. Home and unloaded everything and got to work in the bedroom. First job was to to install a new properly grounded outlet for the new grounded sheets. Hope I don’t electrocute us in our sleep… second project was to hang a TV on the bedroom wall and run electric up to it. Well first job went way easier than expected… second job made up for that and was a nightmare! Figured it out and got it done. L&I then headed to our friend Tom’s bday party with his family. The McClains were there too and it was a really good time. Home and to bed. 

20250907 + C300 Ready

20250907 + Up late and doing some things around the house. Got G's car cleaned out and some minor fixes done and then L, hazel and I took it to the carwash so it is nice and pretty for him when he comes home. Cleaned up the garage a bit and took down the spinning beer sign to make repairs, got some paint chips from the garage floor to see about getting some matching paint for touchups. Watched football on the back porch and had the rest of the brisket for dinner. Watched a couple movie, up late.

20250906 + OSU 2&0!

20250906 + Up in the am and got the brisket flat in the smoker and made a list of stuff to do for the weekend. Headed to the grocery store and got some goodies for the game. Home and watched the OSU game and got a couple little things done in around the house. Chaff came over to watch some of the game and then Terrill, D, DGF13 and Hank, J and JGF7 and Chris Bowman came over to watch Xichgan get beat! The brisket was done and I had the smart idea to put it on the grill for a minute to char the fat cap... well all the juices spilled out and cause a fire and charred the whole outside of the thing... It was still good and folks ate it up. up late watching football.

20250511 - Busy Mother's Day

20250511 - Up in the am and L&I to church. We skipped bfast this week and swung through the Home Depot so I could get a saw blade and get to work. Home and D over, had trouble getting G out of bed... Eventually we got rolling on sealing the driveway and it went really fast. We got our driveway done and Doc's in record time. L warmed up the pork and we had a nice mothers day late lunch. J showed up and ate too. Boys left and I headed out and put a second coat on the driveways. Then I got eh saws out and worked on one of the benches. I really like the raw edge. Finished late. In, cleaned up, watched some American Idol with L and to bed.

20250420 - Up in the am and L drove Hazel and I to Gma&paB's for Easter. DJG, Hanna and Hank showed up not much later. The Cole's were there and we had a proper feast for lunch. Hazel and I took a big walk looking for maple trees but didn't find any this trip. Hung out a bit and then we headed home. Home too late to do any work outside so hung out the rest of the night and watched American Idol

20250404 + Worked got another quote on house painting 🤯🤯 After work L&I headed to El Vaquero for dinner and then home and I paid the bills and got videos sent to GmaW for the Farm Bicentennial.

20250401 - L's bday today! Guys came to install 3 new windows for us, only 1 fit, they measured wrong... In the evening D, DGF13, J&I took L to dinner at Rusty Bucket. It was a fun meal with the boys. Home and tried out my new glass eye, looks way better than the old one.

20250326 - Up late and to the desk getting things done. Took Hazel on a walk and had a guy stop by to quote aerating and reseeding the backyard. Threw the ball with hazel and bit and then walked to Signature's, L is waiting on Steph to come. Got there and they had a new setup with the bingo numbers on a great big screen. We had 16 at bingo tonight, L&I, Gary & Marlene, Brad & Teresa, Steph, Andrew Shawn, Jeff & Beth, Shalynn & Rafael, Penn, Joe & Lisa. We had a good time and they let us do some karaoke afterwards and tore up the stage :-)

20230321 - Up late and to the desk. Got some work done and got the bills paid. Just hung out and

20250316 - Up early and L&I went to church for her school appreciation service. It was nice to see all the familiar faces and catch up a bit. Afterwards we went to Bob Evans for brunch and some cloggers showed up for a little show. We then headed home and relaxed a bit and Ms. Crews called, Doc had fallen and she couldn't get him up, so I ran over and se got him situated. In the evening L&I ran up to Gatsby's to meet Bill and Tiff for a couple drinks. They had an awesome live band and it was super fun.

20250314 + Up in the am and to the desk getting things done. Headed out at noon to Creekside the tattoo place, L met me there, and I got my block 'O' to commemorate the run for the 2024 Championship! It took a couple hours and it HURT! Afterwards we walked the Cantina and got some lunch and saw the guys from the city dye the fountain area. Home and relaxed for a bit and then headed downtown to the Fury game, they are so fun!

20250308 ‡ Up in the am and L did a fashion show of all the auction stuff I got her. L colored her hair and i got a couple things done. D and Hank stopped over to play, DGF13 swung by on her way home and then D&I headed down to Escobar's on Cleveland Ave to pick up my car. Now it has all new Airmatic suspension, but the Sport and Comfort, and Raise buttons don't work... Home and D took off, L&I watched the OSU basketball game, Hazel and I took a walk at halftime. After the game L&I went to Nazareth for dinner and then BP and Kroger. Home and finished a movie. G home and L cut his hair with the $1.99 hair catcher contraption I got off Alibaba.

20250307 - Up early and the furnace guys here. They got busy swapping out furnaces and I paid bills and worked. The new furnace was installed in only a couple of hours and they were gone. L home at lunch. I finished my day, we had leftovers and watched the news. Then L thought it would be a good idea to give Hazel and hair cut.. that took all night, but she looks good.

20250305 - Up late and to the desk. Got some things, rainy crappy day so no walk. Finished the day and then helped L look for her keys to the car, no idea how she lost them, she just drove herself home... Headed to Bingo at Sig's, nice little crowd of 6 of us M&L, Dave and Kelly, John and Shannon. We had a great time. L won a $125 jackpot!!! Home and L found her key... watched the end of '100 Years of Solitude' on Netflix.

20250223 - Got some stuff done in the office this morning. Tool Hazel on a walk. J stopped over, and LJ&I ran down to Rusty Bucket for a late lunch and watch the Buckeye basketball game with some French onion soup. We had a nice visit and then headed home. L worked on G’s quilt, it is looking good!

20250216 - Up late and Lori brought me breakfast in bed. No she wasn’t being nice, due to the unexpected blizzard of 4” of snow this morning her girlfriends canceled their breakfast plans and she had already cooked stuff. Up and hung out a bit and then Hazel and I headed out and shoveled the walks and drive and L&I headed tho the grand opening of the new Roosters in town. We got friends and family tickets from DGF7. The place looks nice and fresh. It will be a good addition to the neighborhood.

20250208 - Up in the am and Gma&paW here for a visit and to do some things for the upcoming Maple Syrup Day @ the Farm. D and Hank stopped by for a run. L&I hung out and Ggf5 showed up and they watched a movie. L&I dressed up and headed to the Hilton downtown for dinner at the ‘Dinner Detective, Murder Mystery Dinner’. We had to pick fake names and then go around and interview other people of the 100 to learn about them and try to figure out who the murderer would be. Then a person ran in with a knife hanging out of there side screaming and fell to the ground bleeding. A pair of detectives came in and interrogated folks around the room, helped us gather some clues and then left while dinner was served. We poured over the clues. Soon the detectives came back in and had more people stand and do various hilarious things. Then on of the detectives had L stand up and started questioning her. They knew she was a teacher and that she had a fake ID in college. And then they said ‘And we found this on the body!’ and held up a picture of her! The other detective said ‘Not only did we find one picture, but two!’ and he held up a different picture. 

L said to me ‘I’m going to kill yup’. Which is the wrong thing to say to the detectives at a murder mystery dinner! Hahaha! We then had dessert and shortly after the detectives were back with the last clues, humiliating actions for some of the guests, plus 2 more murders! We then had some time to write down who we thought it was, their motive and what supporting evidence. One guy figured it out! I was supper close but missed one detail. It was a BLAST! Of course I had arranged for L to be a suspect and provided the pictures. L had fun, but I don’t think she’ll ever admit it. 

20240525 - Lots of Errands

20240525 - Up late and got myself around and headed out. First stop was a haircut, then on to the carwash to get L's car cleaned up. I called L to get the Mother's Day code from the carwash gift card we got her and she couldn't find it... so spent time in the carwash office trying to recover it from the confirmation number I received when ordering it... no luck... Got her car washed, dried and vacd. On to Cartridge World to get new ink for the printer... the store no longer exists... on to Giant Eagle to get a prescription and ribs for this weekend... Giant Eagle for the first time had laterally only 2 little rack of ribs... they usually have loads of meat. So I looked for brisket = none, pork butt = none, pork loin = none. I was shocked. Across the road to try to cancel a checking account at Wright Pat Credit Union I opened when I thought I would use them for the loan on L's new car... they were closed... On to Kroger to see if they had any meat, they did! SO I loaded up, they were having a sale on brisket, so got one of those. Sale on ribs, so I got 1 each of baby back, St Lous and spareribs. Sale on pork shoulders and loins, so got 1 each of those. While I was waiting for the guy to find my St. Louis style ribs I wandered around the meat counter and ended up getting a whole salmon filet and a pound of cooked shrimp and cocktail sauce... Finally done shopping... Home and unloaded the meat... Got the salmon started and L&I headed out for a couple errands. We swung by the car lot to get her memorandum title and chatted with the guys a bit, our old neighbor Jim was there two days in a row looking at a car exactly like L's but 5 years newer. We then headed to a little nursery place so L could get flowers to put around her now exposed lamppost. Home and L planted her flowers while I got the lights on the back porch restrung. I then headed out front and installed 3 new exterior lights while L continued to move rocks. Got that done and hung the new flag, put up some signs in the garage and replaced the batteries in the front door lock. The salmon was almost done so L&I sat on the back patio with our pound of shrimp and sauce for an appetizer.

When the salmon was done I pulled it right out of the smoker and on to a foil pan where we took our forks and dug in. J appeared and took a huge chuck and came back for seconds. It is SO GOOD fresh. Cleaned up and head in, L&I watched a scarry movie, Monster. I then started another and L headed to bed. I headed in and watched a couple more episodes of Narcos while scrolling through Alibaba until too late.

20240515 - J pre-B-Day

20240515 - Up in the am and to the desk. Shipped an ebay item and helped Erin with a data issue and then on calls pretty solid. Took Hazel on a walk, L home and Gma&paW came down with presents for J. J opened some of his gifts and then we went to Mr. Sushi for dinner, it was ok. Home and J opened the rest of his gifts and then L&I watched Survivor and Amazing Race. i was up late on my phone.

20240512 - Back Together

20240512 - Up late and L giving Hazel a trim. The backup camera arrived overnight so I got that put in and all the trim and things put back together. This concluded the work on her car (except new rim center caps that will arrive later this week and a driver’s seat cushion). I got L’s phone and got it synced up with her car and then showed her all the stuff that was done. She really didn’t care… we loaded Hazel up and went to the dog store to get her some food and a toy, stopped by the gas station and then home. Home and put some ski thingys on Doc’s new walker and chatted with him a bit as he tried it out. Called GmaW and wished her a happy Mother’s Day. L and I hung out in the backyard relaxing before another busy week. We made one more trip out to Target to get a couple more chairs for the backyard. home and watched American idol before bed.
