20250320 - Up early after a long night with G being sick all night. In to the Worthington office to meet the generator guys and let them on the roof to fix the colling system. Got things rolling for the morning. Next we had Roto-Rooter out to look at our downspouts and sump pump drain, and then the Orkin man showed up! We had meat sweat  pizza for lunch, YUM! Stayed late and got home about 6. Wasn’t home long and then ran out to the school board meeting to see if they would finally approve the infield turf. The meeting was super long. A highlight was G’s longtime friend Owen was recognized for winning states in his running event. We finally got to the vote and the school board approved the turf! We headed to a local pub to celebrate and I got cornered by a baseball dad that has lots of history with the program and isn’t a fan… home and to bed. 

20211016 + Leaves Late Party

20211016 + Up in the am And L had dropped off G early to ride the bus for the XC meet that he has not yet been cleared to run in. L and I got the garage cleaned out and Hazel and I took a huge load of stuff to Goodwill. Home and L was picking G up. Hazel and I ran to Gahanna Hardware and swapped out 3 propane tanks. Home and L and I checked out he washing machine. It was working, sometimes it does, sometimes it don’t. Of course every time I look at it it is fine… we carried all the party supplies up and got a good list of what else we need to do and get. I ordered a couple things online for in store pickup and then Hazel and I then headed out. Our first stop was Lowe’s to pick up a LED bulb for my office. Hazel went in with me and got to meet some new folks. We then headed to Home Depot in Westerville to pick up a screen protector they didn’t have in stock at our store and Hazel got lots of love there and some treats. Our last stop was the pet store where she looked at all the toys and we got her food and treats. Home and I installed the new screen on the back door while L was raking leaves, which Hazel was happy to help with. 

I installed one of the new propane tanks on our fire table and it leaked horrible. So I swapped it for another of the new ones and we are in business. I’ll have to take the other one back. We all headed in and G wanted to open the presents we got him. He got his stuff opened and G’s buddies started showing up for his bday party. I ran and picked up some pizzas and the boys ate. They played in the backyard and then came in for some cake and to sing happy bday to G. My God these boys are big!

We had football on and I tried to get some things done on the pc. J stopped by to give G a present and give him a hug and then headed out for the night. We watched football until after midnight and headed to bed. We were woken up at 2am with the boys making ramen and then again at 5am form their running and laughing upstairs. No ones getting much sleep tonight…

20210422 - MYOB

20210422 - Up late and L&G at school, J has state testing or something at 1pm so he's in bed. Watched a bit of TV this morning and the opinions on theses shootings are dividing our country. Not sure how so many people NOT at the scene of an incident can assess what would have been the correct actions without being there, or why they believe a persons skin color has anything to do with it. This latest incident of the young girls in Columbus is just crazy. I talked to a friend of mine that is an officer and his assessment is correct: "There is no right action or answer in most of these situations. Someone was going to be be hurt and the officers decision was going to be wrong by at least half the observers no matter his action or inaction." Pretty scary stuff. In to the desk and got some stuff done. Got J up for school and then back to the desk. L home and at the end of the day we layered up and headed tot he high school to watch G run in the Gahanna Invitational. G was to run in 3 races. The first was the 4x800 that his team won, the second was the distance medley and grant ran the 800 leg and they won and the 3rd was the sprint medley where the first 2 guys running the 100 fell and dropped the baton at the first handoff so he didn't get to run. The score was tight so we thought that may have lost the meet for them... It was FREEZING COLD and L&I had blanket and bundled up like it was middle of December. We stayed for the final 5 or so races and then the results and the boys team did end up winning! They celebrated on the field yelling and jumping around. Cold but fun. We swung through Burger King to pick up some dinner on the way home. Home and ate and then shut down for the night. 

20201030 - Trouble Backup

20201030 - Up in the am and L at work, J at school and G online. I got some things done in the am, G came down for lunch and then headed to the shed, and I headed in to my home office. Finished the day and G had Owen spend the night. We played trouble and I got beat in the first round so the boys headed to the basement to play the xbox and make noise. I worked on finalizing all of the backups of data on my PCs and NAS.

20200924 - Hanging by the Pit

20200924 - Up in the am and L at work and I got J up and G was already online. I headed out and stopped at the post office, Scout store and then the office. We had a meeting with an IT company today, Chatted with CB a bit and drove the IT guys to do a bit more cleaning. Lonie and I headed to MicroCenter where he got a new microphone and I got a new PC for the home office. I chatted with dad on the way home and then J helped me carry in stuff from the car and Amazon deliveries. unpacked and delivered the new alarm clock to J&G and then sat down at the desk to get online for the first time today. Got only a couple of things done before it was time to head to G's XC meet. L drove me there so I could finish up a couple things. It was in Westerville and Sam was running and it was the first time they have been in a race together. Both boys did well, well G had a crap or some other excuse but still came in 13th in the 2 mile event with 13.03 and Sam 44 at 17:43. We hung out with Rich, Nicole and Lena during the race. After the race we headed home and we swung through Popeye's to get spicy chicken sandwiches for dinner. Home and we ate on the back porch and I started putting together the fire pit that arrived. L ran to get G from school and home for a min and G&I headed to hitting lessons. G did good at lessons and his coach asked him to join his team for a game next week. On the way home we ran out to pick up some Booster stiff from a lady's house. Home and I finished the fire pit, hooked up the gas and hung out on the back porch with G until midnight.

20190119 - Lost Trouble

20190119 - Up in the am and headed in to work to do some testing on the software changes we had put in place. Everything went well and we were out of there by noon. Home and I spent the afternoon at the desk paying bills and getting things organized. G had his buddy Owen over and they beat me in the 1st game of Trouble so they were allowed to play the Xbox. They got set up in the room over the garage. L&I watched a couple of movies as I went through all our paperwork for 2018, preparing for taxes... I shut the gamers down at 2am and headed to bed.
