20211116 - Hot Cakes

20211116 - Up in the am, L&G at school J home doing better. I headed in to the office and had a busy morning. Hazel and I took a walk and then back to the desk. I finished the day, G walked home from school and we got some dinner. After dinner I headed to the church for the Cub Scout Dessert Auction. There were not as many items to choose from as in years past and no super cool ones that got my attention, so I met one of the dad's I knew and made sure his kids was ok not taking his own cake home and the auction began. They auctioned off a couple cakes and got a couple bucks for them and then pulled the cake I wanted and we ran the price WAY UP! I got the cake for $300 and it set the place a buzz and the prices on the items to follow went up. I headed home and did some crypto investigation the rest of the evening.

20200414 ‡ Up in the am and did some email and had a couple of calls. Pretty frustrating day, things moving slow at work and L's unemployment isn't working... We worked on that a bit and I got some work done, organizing things. Finished the day and we all had dinner together. Tonight the Scouts held their first ever Board of Review and G was the first Scout to achieve a rank virtually. I stepped out to take a call from D's college to figure out why he wasn't getting any homework. Stayed up a bit and got some things done on the PC

20191125 - Scout Oath

20191125 - Up and in to work. Had a couple meetings before getting to my desk. Got some things done and then went to lunch with Hiren to think about IT in 2020. Back to the desk solving more issues on multiple fronts. Home, J has water damage to his phone.. J dropped his phone off at the store to see how much to get it fixed, $100 to fix J's phone. J lost his mind as fixing his phone consumed the remainder of the money from his 1st pay check... He decided to pay to get it fixed. Went to Scouts and paid for wreaths and checked in. Home, got Doc and we went to Bible Bangers. Home exhausted and crashed immediately

20191123 + Happy Campers

20191123 + Up in the am and L&I watched the OSU game. I fixed the garage door and got all the remotes and cars reprogrammed. Mr. Emmons stopped by to get the projector and borrow a laptop for this evening. L&I got layered up and headed to the Scout Thanksgiving Feast. The best one yet despite it pouring down rain. We were dry and warm and the food was great. Home and watched some more football. I stayed up too late for no reason

20191119 + Scout Train

20191119 + Up in the am and into the office. Lonie &I had a customer in today that took up my entire day in a meeting and then building the stuff we discussed. Headed home and got home to an empty house. L picking G up from basketball and J at a friends. L&I hung out a bit and had some dinner. J got home and ate and I headed to the Scout Pack Cake Auction. Penn joined me there and ran a cake WAY up and got the crowd fired up. There are always interesting cakes there and it is a fun event watching the kids bid. Home and landed int he chair and worked on the PC on Booster stuff until the wee hours of the morning...

20191117 - Deliveries

20191117 - Up in the am and JG&I headed out to make some deliveries. We headed south and met Justin at Scioto Downs and I gave him an extra laptop I had so he could look for work. We got back on the road and delivered wreaths all over Gahanna Blacklick and Grove City. Home and we got G had practice. Later in the evening the guys came over for The Walking Dead. J back from work and we chatted about his phone

20191114 - Draft Program

20191114 - Up in the am and G missed his bus so I dropped him off at school on the way to work. In to work and fired up knocking things out today. Headed out a couple min late and fought traffic to get home before Bill & Tom showed up to get some baseball stuff done. L picked up G from practice, J hiding in his room. Finished the evening watching TV doing Booster work, G snuck out of bed to watch the end of the Browns game with me. I stayed up and worked on Scout Program until too late.

20191109 - A New Eagle

20191109 - Up early and D home waiting for the glass guy to come and replace his windshield. That wasn't going to happen until noon so D&I ran some errands, dropped off his holiday break dates to Dbat, the wood store to get a bat billet and then Reynoldsburg to pick up some auction wins. Home and the windshield guy showed up WITH THE WRONG WINDSHIELD!!! D headed back to school and JG&I headed to an Eagle court of Honor. It was a nice ceremony (an abbreviated copy of D's) and J&G did their parts well. We hung out for a bit after to have some refreshments and play some games. Home and watched the end of the OSU game and then the LSU vs Alabama game. G had some friends over. We played trouble and then they were horribly loud until horribly late.

20191026 + PARTY TIME

20191026 + Up early and got hings rolling. We got the door off from the kitchen to the garage and started the chili. I ran G to his basketball tryout and then hit Kroger one last time for ice and couple things we forgot. Home and got the TVs on and everything else set up. Tom showed up and helped with hot dogs and last minute details. Soon the folks started pouring in, D even came back from school! We had a great crowd, 70 folks, despite the rain. Everyone sang happy birthday to me and we all had a toast. The Buckeyes won and it was a great time! Folks left and L&I got pretty much everything cleaned up quick. We sat down and watched some football and G&I stayed up way to late watching the Oregon game. A great day surrounded by family and friends!

20190916 - 2 Scouts

20190916 - Up in the am, J running slow but got him to school and in to work. Grabbed a handful of files and headed up to start the last day of Open Enrollment with the HR team. Amazing that folks can't get things turned in on time... Home and showed new neighbor how to use our riding mower so they could get their grass under control. I had a quick dinner with G and then headed out to Booster meeting. L got J&G to Scouts. I headed to Scouts after Boosters and then got Doc to Bible Bangers. Home and up to 2:30 working on booster stuff for the choirs.

20190906 + All Over the State

20190906 + Up in the am and dropped J off for school. The map was red so I headed to 270 the back way and when I got to the entrance of 270 it was blocked off by police cars and the highway was shut down due to an accident, so I took back roads to the office. Once at work I went straight into the HR dept to help them get the final pieces in place so they could send out insurance enrollment info. J ran home after school, got his stuff and went straight back to school to get the bus to head for an overnight trip to Mason for his favorite XC meet of the year. I Headed home a bit early to swing by Ink My Graphics to chat with the owner about setting up a webstore. I ran G to the church and dropped him off with the scouts. They are heading up to the Farm tonight and then on to Put-In-Bay for the weekend.

The McClains swung by and picked L&I up and we headed to the Clippers game downtown. We had a blast just hanging out, eating dime a dogs and having a couple beers. Home and to bed for a big day tomorrow.

20190720 + J's Prank

20190720 + Up at the crack of dawn and on the road. Attempted to swing through the McDonalds on the edge of town but that was as expected, a complete disaster and loss of 10 minutes: I got on the highway with no food and will NEVER go to that McD's again. 2 hour and 45min later I arrive at camp. As in years past I head back to the campsite to hurry the boys along. As I arrived at the camp I ran into Roger and asked how camp went, he replied 'Good fro some of us, not so good for others'. I asked if he was referring to my boys and he just made a sound like 'Eh'. Uh Oh what did one of my idiots do??? In to camp and immediately Rob, the Scoutmaster, said he needed to talk to me, this is not how i expected this morning to go... Rob called me over and Jack and another boy to let me know that Jack and his friend decided to do nothing all week, got no merit badges and failed to get their Pipestone. Several explanations were made and blah blah, but J was about to die when he pulled out his 5th year Pipestone and let me know it was all a joke and everyone, all Scouts and adults, were in on it. They got a good laugh as they saw me go from 0 to J Dead in a flash. Relieved, but still going kill J for doing that to me... Lowered the flag in the camp and then we hiked back tot he cars and everyone told talked of the week and how much fun they had, how good the Winger boys were... Got my boys int he car, gave them their clean clothes and pop and candy bars and we headed to the Dutch Kitchen in Dalton for lunch. On the way the boys told story after story of the funny and goofy and good things that happened. To the restaurant and we got the tables reserved and claimed. Soon the others showed up and we had a feats. Back on the road and the boys got their phones so they went silent... To the Farm and stopped for a quick visit with Gma&paW, where the boys told them the highlights of the week. Back on the road before we all fell asleep with a quick stop to look over the woodshed at the Farmhouse; it is not savable... On the road, stopped for gas and then nonstop to church to pick up the blue cards and on home. Home and J loved his desk and the other things L did in his room. J&G got cleaned up. L at D's 2 games of the day in record high heat advisories... J&G, all cleaned up and glued to their electronics and I attempted to rest a bit. Eventually L&D got home and J&G retold their stories of adventure. L&I out to pick up some last minute things from Home Depot and swung by Chipotle & Cane's to get dinner. Home and we all sat down together and ate and more tales were told as we all got caught up on what happened over the last week. After dinner J decided it would be a good idea to spend the night at a friends... and the rest of us watched the new 'Shazam' before heading to bed.

20190714 - Scout Delivery

20190714 - Up early and LJG&I loaded up the car and headed off to 7Ranges Scout Camp! We swung by the meeting place and checked in and then headed to the gas station to fuel up the car, McD's to get some bfast and then hit the road to the Farm. We got to the Farm and J&G did a couple of things with GmaW and GpaW and I looked for some parts to the Shopsmith. We got the text that the Troop was close so we jumped in the car and headed back to the highway with a quick stop in the corn field to get our 4th of July pic taken. On the road and to the Dalton Dariette for a good lunch and then on to the camp. We got to camp and I helped organize and boss people around and it was the fastest we have ever gotten registered. L&I hiked back to the camp site with the boys and then watched as they took their swim test. We then hiked back to he car and headed to the Farm where we went out for a nice dinner with the Gma&paW. Back home and exhausted from the day we checked in with D and headed to bed.

20190713 - FIRE & Family

20190713 - Up in the am and G&I out to the fire station where a young man gave us a tour of the trucks and explained things to G&I. It was super cool and as we left G said 'I think you liked that more than I did!'. I did, those huge trucks a re cool! We thne swung through Kroger to get supplies for the weekend and headed home. We unloaded our groceries and all of us headed North to Delaware for a family picnic with L's family. D got to go too as his games were cancelled for the day, too many injured players... We had a good time and ate a ton and G&I played a lot of cornhole with other family members on the board we made. After the picnic we headed home and finalized things for Scout camp starting tomorrow. L&I ran some errands picking up last minute things for the boys, dinner and some things at Home Depot. Home, ate and watched a movie. All to bed in good time for a busy day tomorrow.

20190710 - Tubular

20190710 - Up in the am and L took J to XC, got D up 5 min before he was supposed to be at work, ran G and his buddy to XC. I headed in to work, took 13 min to get through Cherry Bottom & Moris Rd, another 9 minutes to get from there 14 miles to my office... To the desk and Kevin got me a better chair. Had a busy day with a lot of progress. Home a bit late and D at his game, J on an adventure with some buddies and LG&I had dinner. After dinner L went to D's game and G&I got his pipestone wood bundled and then played cornhole, I finally beat him! After a bit L home and J called done with his adventure: At XC this morning J thought it would be a good idea to go tubing down the Big Walnut Creek. So Jack and 5 of his buddies got themselves some tubes and headed to Academy Park and spent the next 3 hours floating down the creek, swinging on a rope swing they found, going through rapids and splashing around. They had a BLAST! All home, D won and D&I working on finding him a student loan for school this year.

20190709 - Up in the am and in to work to a surprise meeting about a change that they wanted that we didn't need and we won't do until August. I hope that confuses you as much as it did me... Had a pretty busy day and headed out a bit late. Home and helped L cook dinner. J home from the pool and LJG&I had a nice dinner. After dinner J&I headed to the Scout Board of Review where we had to split up in to two rooms tonight due to everyone wanted to get their rank advancements done before summer camp. J got his Life Scout rank and now only has his Eagle Project to do to become an Eagle Scout! After the BOR J drove me to CVS to get tanning bed burn aloe... Home and watched some of the All-Star game and applied a lot of aloe... Up late reading a book! yes an actual paper book!

20190624 - Leadership Position?

20190624 - Up in the am and L had quite a time getting J out the door for XC... They returned before I left, they went to the wrong location so J had to go run around the neighborhood on his own, L and Lilly headed out for a walk and I headed to work. To work and had a fill day of getting caught up and moving projects forward. Headed out a bit late. D worked at the lawyers today, J got some thing posted on ebay and G painted some fence and helped L in the yard. Home and J had cooked dinner and LJ&I ate, D&G home from Dbat a bit later and joined us. J drove G&I to Scouts, D had to run some awards I left on the desk over and he stayed a bit to talk to folks. Good meeting, got a lot done, J running for Senior Patrol Leader... After the meeting we headed home and finished watching game 1 of the College World Series. To bed, watching Game of Thrones and looking for things on Amazon until too late.

20190617 - Runday

20190617 - Up in the am and dropped J off at driver's ed on the way in to work. In to work and going through stack of stuff making progress on many fronts. Headed out a bit late. Home and ate quick with all. Then we all split up again... I headed to the Booster meeting and J&G headed to Scouts. Booster meeting was good and short so I headed to Scouts to get J&G. Home and I got Doc and headed to to Bible Bangers, our friend Scott's son left for the Marines for 5 year today. Home and watched some Game of Thrones.

20190514 - Wrong Uniform

20190514 - Up in the am and dropped J off at school on the way in tot he big office today. Spent the morning fixing things and working on reports with others. Finished the day up with a couple meetings and got out in good time. Home and worked on some Booster stuff until dinner with L&J, D&G at their baseball practices. I finished up the Booster stuff and ran to pick G up. I went to the wrong place... got the the correct place just on time and got him and ran back past the house so he could get his Scout book and on to the church. I sat in one one Board of Review and then it was G's turn so I had to leave the room. G went in and went through the steps and got his Tenderfoot rank tonight. He has 1 more to get before heading to Summer Camp. Home and we hung out watching some TV before heading to bed.

20190506 - A Lot of Running

20190506 - Up in the am and dropped J off at school on the way to work. Still taking the back way as 270 construction is a nightmare. In to the new office today to observe the invoicing process. Spent a bit of time getting caught up from the weekend. Had a very busy day that seemed to never end. L called me on her way home from dropping G off at baseball upset with J... Home and had a talk with J, got things sorted and a plan for correction. J&I shipped some ebay things and fixed the listings he did over the weekend. I then ran J to Scouts, then to the post office, then to pick up G. Got G, he had a good practice and we ran to Scouts. The Scouts were outside playing a game and they had some fun. Home and hung out watching the Blue Jackets, they lost. Up late working on things.
