20250626 - Up in the am and L&G at baseball early. GGF6 joined L at the games and they roasted at the double header day. I had an eye appointment follow up and everything looks good. Had to take it a bit easy as my eye was numbed and dilated. Got to work and got some stuff done and we all went to the Old Bag for lunch. Back to the desk finished the day and headed home a bit late. Hanky boy is with us for a couple days so we hung out on the back porch for a lot of the night.

We didn't win anything but had fun catching up and getting folks singing karaoke after bingo. I got this grandma up and she had a blast. John and I stayed until we were the last ones there.

I got home, too big for opening so project for this weekend... L&I headed to Andrew Burnworth's grad party. It was a lot of fun and L and TIff experimented with their bidet and told everyone about it through song and dance...

20250604 - Up in the am and G&I dropped his car off at the window tint place. We then went out looking for a fridge and to run other errands. First stop was Lowe's, then Home Depot, then Best Buy, and two appliance places in Reynoldsburg that were no longer open... Swung by and picked up some auction wins and then Maynard's before stopping at Pyrinex where G got his business class laptop for school. Back to the home depot to order the first fridge we saw... Home and to the desk. Finished the day and there were 9 of us at bingo and we got folks singing afterwards.

Hazel and I took a walk and for the second day in a row left the house with a nice day and got rained on while on our walk... Back to the desk to finish the day. L home and we headed to Grove City. Noticed bubbles, thousands of bubbles floating around in my eye now… texted with Terrill and he said get ur ass to an ophthalmologist tomorrow! G didn’t play, we stayed and watched. After the game we went to a Long John Silvers. It was a train wreck and took forever but the fish was amazing. Home late.

20250513 - Up in the am and to the desk getting things done. Today’s new thing is a new giant squid like floater in my eye! Tried to take Hazel on a walk and we got stuck out in a thunderstorm and got SOAKED! Back to the desk had a meeting and wrapped a bunch of things up. L home and we went out to G’s baseball game. it was the first game ever on the new turf field! They haven’t even had the chance to practice on it. The boys did good, G got walked and got himself around to be the first person EVER to score on the new field! They WON! First win in 3 weeks! Home and hanging out on the porch trying to get things lined up in my head that need done in the next 10 days.

20250511 - Up in the am and L&I to church. We skipped bfast this week and swung through the Home Depot so I could get a saw blade and get to work. Home and D over, had trouble getting G out of bed... Eventually we got rolling on sealing the driveway and it went really fast. We got our driveway done and Doc's in record time. L warmed up the pork and we had a nice mothers day late lunch. J showed up and ate too. Boys left and I headed out and put a second coat on the driveways. Then I got eh saws out and worked on one of the benches. I really like the raw edge. Finished late. In, cleaned up, watched some American Idol with L and to bed.

20250510 - Up in the am and went to pick up groceries with L. She waited int eh car and I went in and got meat and beer. Home and unloaded stuff and I got a 10lb pork butt in the smoker. Pretty soon Vinnie and Penn and Gary showed up, D and Hank too and we headed back and got the chainsaw mill fired up. I spent most of the day slabbing logs, J stopped by and Gary stayed the longest. Riley helped me carry the slabs up. L trimmed the bushed and did a bunch of work out front. I then got on my hands and knees and started patching the driveway. Done late and the pork was done and it was really good after a long day. In and cleaned up.

20250509 - Up late and to the desk getting things done. L home and we ran to the school to see G's senior capstone project. He did his on yoga and baseball. The other kids did things like learning how to cook, painting fancy nails, research on growing plants, what job they would like... Grant's was good, we're not sure how, as we never saw him working on it... But his was one of the better ones, so that was good. After exploring the kids projects I ran L to CVS and then took my E550 through the car wash. Home and back to the desk to wrap up the day. Then headed outside and cleaned the driveway off.
20250508 - Slabs R Cool!
20250508 - Up in the am and dropped L off at school and got to drive my E550 to work for the first time since I got her back. OMG the ride is so smooth and the power is amazing, so happy to have her back! Got to the desk and got things done, had a couple meetings, pizza with the team, took the trash out and headed home. Hannah and Hank were here when I got home, so was the chainsaw and ripping chain I ordered. I got the chainsaw put together with the ripping chain on it and fired it up, ran great. I then got the chainsaw mounted to the chainsaw mill. D showed up and L cooked dinner for us. Then D helped me get the first cut rails set up on a log and the pully system set up and we gave it a try. CUT LIKE BUTTER!!! we flattened the top of the log off and then cut one perfect plank. IT WAS AMAZING! One of the coolest things I have ever done! Got things cleaned up and headed in for the night. Casey got a hold of me today and let me know he bought the car we went and looked at the day before I went to the hospital.

20250502 - Up in the am L had brought me some clothes so I showered and got comfortable for a long day of testing. Had an ultrasound on my legs and a new MRI on my head and neck. Sending all results to Terrill and he said I'm healthy as a horse and need to get out of here. Neurologist wants to put me on Eliquis as a precautionary measure... Cardiologist in and says other than the PFO my heart and all arteries everywhere show no sign of plaque build up or any calcification. He doesn't think I need Eliquis, but said so it until after he sees me in June just to be safe, said we have to figure out why the AFIB is happening. Got released in the evening. Good to be home and Hazel was happy to see me.

20250501 - Around midnight they came and got me for an MRI. Didn't sleep much, too many beeps and alarms going off all night. L showed up, had bfast, sat around waiting... Headed down for a CT scan with contrast, the ladies said are you ok with blah, blah, and iodine, and I said NO IODINE because of the thyroid. So they cancelled that... Back up to the room. Waited, Same kid came back to get me and took me down for a heart ultrasound. I was nosy and asked tons of questions and got to watch as they injected bubbles into my heart and you could see them on the screen, so cool. The ultrasound shows everything is ok except a PFO, a tiny flap that never completely sealed in the heart, not a big deal, 30% of the population has it. Back to the room and waited some more. They ordered an MRI with contrast instead of the CT and leg ultrasounds, but by then it was too late and I would have to spend the night again... Slept better tonight.

20250430 - Woke up this morning and left arm a bit numb, but now face on left side, ear to eye and down cheek numb and tingly. L can home at lunch and I told her and she took me to the hospital. I was admitted. to the stroke floor and had lots of tests ran. Had to spend the night.

20250429 - Woke up in the morning and still had AFIB and my left hand and shoulder/arm was numb/tingling. Took some aspirin and went back to sleep. Up about 1:30pm and still had AFIB but numbness was minimal. Got myself up and around and to the desk working. AFIB went away at about 3pm. I had made plans with Casey, a kid from scouts when D was in to take him to look at cars. I got myself cleaned up, feeling pretty good and we found him a good car. Now he needs to jump through the hoops to get it financed and insured. Home and taking it easy, spoke to Terrill this evening and he said find a cariologist NOW and next time it happens call the squad. Slow night at home just relaxing.

20250427 - Up in the am and L&I to church and then Bob Evans for bfast. We then made a quick trip through Home Depot to get supplies needed to finish up some more jobs around the house. Home and L left and her and Nicole went over to see GpaB's choir concert. I got G up and D and Hank came over. We strung a cable from a tree to corner of the porch and then hung light on them. G left for work and D&I ran back to get more lights to finish the job. Home and finished stringing the lights. D and hank left and Gma&paW stopped by for a short visit after seeing a musical downtown. I then painted some of the horse out back and the dog proofing fence section along with any other little job I found to do along the way. L home and likes the lights. I was outside till late, the lights look great!

20250426 + Up late and L&I created a comprehensive list of things we still had to do before G's grad party. I headed out back to continue putting things back together, L ran to the Home Depot and got some things. L home and I hung the lights L bought around the porch. We did a bunch of other little jobs and then Hazel and I took a hike along the baseball fields behind the house and dug up some maple saplings and one pretty good size tree to transplant in to row of maples I am trying to get growing in the back yard. Worked outside until late and then got hungry. So hazel and I jumped in the car and ran up to get food from Arby's, KFC and Taco Bell. home and we had a feast!

20250423 + Up in the am and to the desk getting things done. Sid's Stucco's crew showed up around 1pm and started working on the trim painting and installing the new shutters. Hazel and I went out and trimmed the grape vines, got them restrung and then painted the arbor posts. L home and the guys were finishing up. We checked everything out and it looks GREAT! I got cleaned up quick and L&I headed to G's baseball game. G did great, nice hit and some great plays at short. They lost vs Grove City, they know we can't defend the bunt... Swung through McD's on the way home and picked up dinner. Home and ate and headed to bed.

20250422 - Up in the am and to the desk. Worked all morning, Hazel and I took a walk. Back to the desk for a bit and Sid's Stucco showed up around 2:30 and the guys started taping things off. I made a deal with Sid for some extra cash for his guys if they would spray the porch ceiling for us, he took the deal. So the porch ceiling got painted first, Sid did have to run to Home Depot to get more paint. L home for a bit and went to G's game in Chillicothe and I stayed back to make sure the guys had everything they needed. Then Jesse the paint spraying wizard started on the west side and sprayed everything all the way around the back and the east side in no time at all, This would have taken us weeks! While the guys were painting I reseeded the yards again and then cut down two big hanging limbs that were stretching over in to the neighbor's yard. The guys finished up for the night and I got the sprinklers going and then started trying to retrieve the well pipe with the collapsible grappling hook I got off amazon. Well I got the hook stuck in the well and had to drop a length of metal pipe in to break the hook free. It worked and got the hook out and then the piece of pipe I used to get the hook lose actually caught the well pipe and brought it up. L home and I finished up about 10pm. in and exhausted.

20250421 - Up in the am and dropped L at work on my way to the Worthington office. CB, Cory, Lonie and I to Old Bag for lunch and then we headed to the City of Columbus 911 HQ to meet with them to see if we can help them with their staffing. Joe Dixon works there now and was part of the meeting. Great to see him! I headed home after the meeting as Sid's Stucco showed up to pressure wash the house. L was home and helped get bushes trimmed up off the walls and the TV's off the back porch and stuff prepped for painting. I got home and they were wrapping up and L had to pick a paint color and fast. We went to Sherwin-Williams and got some samples. Home and L painted the samples on the wall quick and then headed to G's game, all the colors look the same to me... I stayed home and worked on paint prepping. I got the back porch and the rest of the house ready for painting tomorrow.

20250420 - Up in the am and L drove Hazel and I to Gma&paB's for Easter. DJG, Hanna and Hank showed up not much later. The Cole's were there and we had a proper feast for lunch. Hazel and I took a big walk looking for maple trees but didn't find any this trip. Hung out a bit and then we headed home. Home too late to do any work outside so hung out the rest of the night and watched American Idol

20250419 - Up in the am and worked on the patch on the porch ceiling. Worked on the trees I cut down, L helped a bit and we got them all cleaned up. In and I got cleaned up and L&I headed to the Expo Center for the Oddities and Curiosities Expo. WOW! What an interesting group! After our odd experience we headed to the Short North and the Goody Boy Diner for dinner. It was good and we got to hang out a bit before heading to the Garden theater to see 'A Cous Line'. It was an AMAZING show!!! Home late and exhausted, to bed.

G&I stopped at Gary's depot on the way home to pick up some auction wins. Home and unpacked and back to the desk. Late in the afternoon I tried out the new Ryobi 18v chainsaw. I took down all the scrub trees along the SW fence line so the couple maples I have back there can grow.

Put a bottom round roast in the smoker and nailed things down to prevent them from blowing away in the horrible winds we're having today. Hazel and I went on a walk and almost got blown away. Home and L home, roast done and we had some, YUM! We watched some news and then I went to the gym. Home, cleaned up, watched some tv. G home, he had a meeting with the Athletic Director and the baseball coaches today and apparently is back on the team... not sure I like that, I was ready to be done with Gahanna Baseball forever, not sure what he thinks will be different, hope something good comes of all of this... Called Gma&paW and we went over the Maple Syrup Day at the Farm. It was a great event and people really enjoyed it. To bed, couldn't sleep.

20250413 - Up late and got a couple things listed on eBay. Dave L called and we chatted for a while. Headed outside and gave the hot dog steamer a good cleaning. Then I caulked the the new patio steps and put more grass seed and straw down. Got the front done first and go the sprinkler set up and running, seeded and strawed the back and got two sprinkles set up. Johnsons stopped over for a bit and then Nate and Leo came over to help put the fence up. D Hanna and Hank stopped over and the dogs had a blast. Everyone left and I got the battery in the mower, it wouldn't start and had a flat tire so I pushed it up to the porch and got the battery charger on it and got it fired up, air in the tire and mowed the far back with the headlights. In and got cleaned up and headed to bed and fell asleep pretty fast.

20250412 - Up in the am and L&I headed to the Farm. We got there and helped get things set up. People started showing up and we had a huge group this year, we think about 120! The day was perfect sunny and a bit chilly. Had a lot of first time attendees and a lot of people i haven't seen in YEARS! The day went very well and the syrup was perfect. There was a presentation in the tent on the history of the farm and that is when DJ&G and their friends decided to start shooting... Things wrapped up at the Farm and I cleaned the syrup stuff up with Brads help. DJ&G got all the trash out to the barn and L cleaned inside. We hung out for a while and then headed to the dinner in Ashland. It was a beautiful place and just the perfect set up with historic photos and items on display. I was the MC and it was a nice event. We had a slideshow rolling that folks enjoyed watching while they ate, there were some special presentations by a county commissioner and a state representative. The videos people sent in were very touching and some very funny. Several folks came up and shared stories and then we took family pictures. It was a wonderful event! Afterwards we helped get some things cleaned up and headed home. Home late, Hazel was happy to see us, to bed and dead asleep.

Had a bit of panic when I realized the cap for the hot dog machine was missing. But all good I had bought a couple spares. Everything ready to go and to bed in good time to get up for tomorrow. G had like 4 or 5 friends spend the night that were coming up to the Farm with him.

Cory and I had a lunch with Brian an insurance guy, back to the office and wrapped things up. Headed home and picked L up from school. The yard guy was out today and aerated and over seeded the front and half the backyard today. Finished my work day, took Hazel on a walk, then L&I ran to Home Depot for sprinklers and hoses and some other things. Home and Hazel and I replaced the weather stripping of the back french doors and put the last screws in the top step out the back. Nate stopped over with some fencing to keep Hazel off the worst patches of the yard. In and had dinner and watched TV with L.
20250409 - Doc's 86 & G had Enough!
20250409 - Up in the am and to the desk. I prepped a pork loin for the smoker, L home for lunch and then Hazel and I ran her back to work. Got the loin in the smoker and then back to the desk. I got all the eBay shipments ready and was ready to head out the door to get my errands done when Glass Doctor called and said they were on their way with our new glass. So I couldn't leave... Glass done, L done at school, so went and picked her up, on to the bank to get some cash and drop off eBay stuff at the shipper. Then L&I went to visit Doc where he is staying during rehab. Today was his 86th b-day, they think. Back when he was born in 1939 they didn't go to the hospital, you were born at home. And when the age of IDs and Social Security arrived you had to find someone that wasn't a family member that could vouch for your birth year so you could have a birth certificate made and get a social security card. The person Doc found to vouch for him was his first grade teacher, she was 90 at the time, but remembered that Doc was born the year of the 'high water' = 1939. After our visit L dropped me off at Sport Clips so i could get a haircut, my plan was to be there at 2pm today but the window guys messed that up... I got my hair cut, called L and she was already on the road to G's game so I walked the 1.7 miles home. Home and got the pork loin out of the smoker and it was perfect! Hazel and I had a couple pieces and then I headed to Signature's for bingo. Texting with L and G not playing again... She was furious, I was glad I didn't go... Home and we talked about how G was getting shit on by the same coaches that shit on D and how we hate it so much. G home and let us know that he talked to the coaches after the game, he has talked to them after each of their 3 games, and they gave him the same BS story. He said at one point he stood up and the coach said to him, 'Do you want to continue this conversation?' G said 'No, I quit', shook his hand and walked out. GOOD FOR HIM! So proud of him for standing up for himself and not putting up with the crap that we have seen happen to D and many other boys over the last 11 years! It sucks that the baseball program at the school is so bad. I know G will miss his friends, but we can already tell he feels better.

I took Hazel on a walk. We hung out and watched some TV. I went to Planet Fitness. Home, cleaned up and to bed.

Home and reviewed a couple things with L in the backyard and got the push mower started for her and she mowed half the back before we get it seeded. L&I headed to G's baseball game, G wasn't playing so I came home and got a couple more things on my list done. It started raining so I went out and got L. Home and L made dinner, G home and he has no idea why he's not playing... L&I watched some American Idol until the NCAA basketball championship came on. Headed to bed to watch 2nd half of game, I woke up at midnight and have no idea who won. Back to sleep at 3.

20250325 - Up and to the desk. Got the prime rib roast in the smoker and a lot of other stuff done today. Had the window guys out to look at 3 of our windows with moisture between the glass and got those ordered. We had a guy from Rhino-Shield come out and give us an estimate this afternoon, $15k to pressure wash, prime and seal the house 😮 Got the prime rib out of the smoker and let it sit while L made some sides. IT WAS AMAZING. Hung out watching TV with L.

20250324 - Up in the am and dropped the E550 back off at Escobar's to have him look at the airmatic buttons that haven't worked since he fixed the things. Cory met me there and carried me to work. To the desk and getting things rolling for the week. CB in and we all went to Old Bag and I got my French onion soup. Finished the day and D came to pick me up at work and carry me to the GLHS baseball field where G wasn't playing... I went up in to the press box and checked on the guys and got the Toast machine and hotspot to test them. G eventually got in the game when it was 10 to 1, NOT US, and got a nice single and stole a couple bases and tagged out at home. He picked off a kid at second and was talking smack to him and the coaches spoke to him about it :-) Home and no Bible Bangers tonight. L&I hung out and watched the 3hr Bachelor.

20250320 - Up early after a long night with G being sick all night. In to the Worthington office to meet the generator guys and let them on the roof to fix the colling system. Got things rolling for the morning. Next we had Roto-Rooter out to look at our downspouts and sump pump drain, and then the Orkin man showed up! We had meat sweat pizza for lunch, YUM! Stayed late and got home about 6. Wasn’t home long and then ran out to the school board meeting to see if they would finally approve the infield turf. The meeting was super long. A highlight was G’s longtime friend Owen was recognized for winning states in his running event. We finally got to the vote and the school board approved the turf! We headed to a local pub to celebrate and I got cornered by a baseball dad that has lots of history with the program and isn’t a fan… home and to bed.

20250319 - Up late and to the desk. Got a couple things done. L home for lunch, G home from school and he called off work, he's not feeling good and headed to bed. L back to work, hazel and I took a walk and then got G up and medicated so he could go to his game. L home, I finished my day and we headed to Olentangy High School for G's game. We got there and no kids, bus didn't show up until 4:15, no parents knew, communications still suck... Boys finally showed up and I helped Bill Lehman get GameChanger and the video rolling. G started, got a really nice hit and scored our first point. Afraid not much else happened after that... We managed to get 1 more, but were giving up at least 4 an inning and G got pulled so other kids could get some time, so L&I left. I found a little pub nearby, the Keystone Pub, and we stopped for a bite and there was a really good guitar player there. It was very nice. When we left L said 'We should tell the boys about that place, it is close to their work." I said text them and let them know. She did and they responded that is where they have all of their company 'meetings'. Home and played with Hazel and bit. G showed up and he was a zombie... He had a high fever. He got cleaned up, medicated and to bed. He was up most of the night in the bathroom, L was with him, it was a late/all night thing, not much sleep.

20250318 + Up in the am and to the desk. The squad came and got Doc today, he couldn't get out of bed and was having stomach pains. L cam home for lunch and then back to work. Hazel and I took a walk, L home, Gma&paB over, I finished my day and we headed to the baseball field for G's first scrimmage. I helped the new Booster Reps get the sound set up, scoreboard on, flag up and anything else they needed. G started short and had a really nice 2 RBI hit that gave us our only points for the game. It was nice to be there without having a million things to do! Home late, had leftovers, G went to dinner with his teammates before coming home and heading to bed.

20250317 - Up in the am and headed to the Worthington office for the day. Got some things done, CB, Cory and I had lunch at the Old Bag. Finished the day and headed home. It was super nice out so L&I took Hazel on a walk and then had some dinner. There was a Booster meeting tonight and people were calling and texting me with questions and asking if I was coming to the meeting? NO! HA! Was nice to not have to get things prepared and go to the meeting. Too many of the Bible bangers were busy as well so we cancelled that meeting. L&I just hung out, I made us a little snack board and had a nice relaxing evening.
