20260124 + Tommy's 49

20260124 + Up at 5:30am and couldn't go back to sleep. Up and had some coffee with L and then prepping the bedroom for some work in there today. Heading out to drop off a shipment, get some stuff at Home Depot, gas in L's car and pick up auction wins. Home and unloaded everything and got to work in the bedroom. First job was to to install a new properly grounded outlet for the new grounded sheets. Hope I don’t electrocute us in our sleep… second project was to hang a TV on the bedroom wall and run electric up to it. Well first job went way easier than expected… second job made up for that and was a nightmare! Figured it out and got it done. L&I then headed to our friend Tom’s bday party with his family. The McClains were there too and it was a really good time. Home and to bed. 

20220121 - Tom's 45

20220121 - Up in the am and LJ&G at school. I had a busy day and was glad when it was over. L ran G out to D-bat for practice with the school team. Bill & Tiff showed up and we all headed to Signatures to give them another try. We walked in and knew a bunch of folks. We had a nice dinner and chatted the whole time, great to catch up with them. After dinner we headed to Coaches to meet up with Tom and his family where they were celebrating his 45th bday. We hung out with them for a while and then went over to Tom Sr's to see his house before heading home. Fun night.

20201024 - 15th Annual OSU Football Party

20201024 - Up early and started the chili and final preparations for our OSU Party. Things were running smooth, got the hot dogs steaming and Dave showed up to help a bit before others showed up. Right around kickoff we had more folks come in and it was GREAT to see people! I wan't sure how many folks would show up with all the crazy COVID stuff going on and honestly couldn't remember who all got invited. But was had a nice crowd, about 30 folks, that should up and stayed social distanced and work masks and hung out and chatted and had a good time. L&I were happy that the crowd was smaller, it allowed us time to actually sit and catch up with folks rather than run around refilling buns and bowls and host duties that we normally do. Nice calm day and the Buckeyes looked great and WON! Several of the guests brought 50th bday gifts, expensive bourbon and Dave got me the coolest little bourbon cask I've ever seen. The party wound down and everyone except a couple neighbors headed out. The 2 neighbor guys stayed until 1:30am watching football, drinking and chatting. It was enjoyable, but WAY too late for me. VERY NICE DAY!

20200701 - HOME RUN!!!

20200701 - Up in the am and got on calls and had a busy day in the office. D took G back to the school and pitched to him for about an hour. Boys back home for a minute and then headed up to Westerville for G's baseball game. We played the Cobras and somehow by the grace of God the last time we played them they won. Well our boys weren't having any more of that. The boys played very well and G went 2 for 3, 1 nice deep shot to center that was caught, another for a single and a bomb for a home run! his second ever. G's home run put the game out of touch for the Cobras and we run ruled them after 5. After the game we headed to Coach's to eat and celebrate Bi'll bday. It was a good time. D brought G and the other players from the team back to our house to play wiffle ball and called shortly after to let me know his recently repaired phone screen got smashed... L&I chatted with Tom Sr. and his wife and heard some amazing stories of his life. The best being 'convinced' to drive to Wytheville VA and get married at 18. Guy has had an amazing life. Home and got another old phone out of the safe for D and he took off with his friends. The other parents stopped and got their kids and we headed to bed.

201900922 + 2nd Place and Picnic

201900922 + Up in the am and gave J instructions on what he had to get done today. LG&I headed to the baseball fields for G's game. We played a really good team and won the semi final that put us in the championship game. We had a short break and then we played int he championship. Our boys came out strong, but  errors in the 1st inning on defense puts us down 8-2. The boys fought back, G got his only hit of the weekend, but it wasn't enough and the boys got 2nd place in the tournament. I think I am done with baseball for a while... We headed home and got a hold of D letting him know we weren't going to make it to his scrimmage, all too tired from being out in the heat all day with G. Home and J&JGF3 were at the house and J's list of things to do was nowhere near done... I went out to the garage and scraped some paint off the walls and then headed to my company's 'Family Picnic' alone... Got to the picnic, ate, chatted with everyone and then headed home. Home and taped off the floor in the garage and then L&I put a coat of KILZ on the walls, IT LOOKS GREAT! Cleaned up, G at basketball. All home and JGF3 left. We chatted about expectations when we ask for something to be done... All to bed, J moving around until midnight, I watched the Browns lose.

20190917 - Damn Cone & Garage Floor

20190917 - up in the am and a bit different today, I dropped G off at school early so he could go to Bible Study. That got me in to the office early and on the run getting things done. Slammed through a bunch of things fast and got on the road. Stopped by the house to get J's car and then to the school to pick him up. J drove us down to Wilmington so he could take his driving test. J and the officer took of and before I knew it were back. They went through the maneuverability course and DING! J knocked over a cone... They came back in to the office and J passed the driving part with only 1 deduction, almost a perfect score and then we rescheduled to come back next week and try again... We swung over to the college to see D for a bit, J got to see his room and we visited for only a couple min before heading out. We went to Lowe's and picked up some painting supplies and then J drove me home. Home and I ate quick and then started preparing the garage. bill and Tom came over and we spent the evening epoxying the garage floor. It looks great! Exhausted, I woke up in the living room chair at 1am and crawled into bed. 

20190913 + Skim Coat

20190913 + Up slow in the am and dropped J off at school on the way in to work. Joined up with the HR team and entered data ALL DAY. Home, J with JGF3, G wanted to stay home and play on Xbox. L&I to post office and then Greek place for dinner. We swung through the Home Depot to pick up some supplies and L added plants. We swung through Cane's to get G dinner but too busy so got him Wendy's. Home and Tom & Landon here. The boys hung out while tom and I put the final skim coat layer on the garage floor to fill in any left over pits. It looks great but took forever.

20190602 - Championship Run

20190602 - Up in the am and D headed to a players house early, then L took off to D's game in Zanesville. JG&I loaded up and J drove us to Upper Arlington for G's day of bracket play. J rested in the car and G&I went to watch an 8U coach pitch game that had a son on the team of a lady I work with. We then headed to our field and got the game started. It was a rough game, against a team we had beaten easily twice before this year already, they wanted to beat us bad and played hard. In the end we were able to win and had to quickly change fields. J got us to the next game and the boys face a team that was 14-1 for the year so far, a REALLY GOOD team. The boys got themselves pumped up and pulled out a win! After a short break it was time for the championship game. L showed up and we got the game underway. the boys played hard and very well but the giants they were up against pulled off the win. Still was a great game and the boys got trophies for 2nd place out of 12. We headed home and Tom and Bill came over to discuss the weekend. G and his buddies played more wiffleball... Everyone cleared out and D got home and told us about his games. We then all headed to bed from a very busy baseball weekend.

20190517 - Dinner and Putting

20190517 - Up late and L had taken J to school and G is off to school, L at work and D still in bed. I am taking the day off today so we can drive to Pigeon Forge. I finished syncing and updating the phone as I got things ready to head out. I got D up, had a little 'talk' with him about getting his butt out and finding a job as he drove me to pick up the car. I then ran and got G out of school. Home and L was there. We packed up the car and got on the road to Pigeon Forge. We avoided some bad traffic and stopped once for lunch and to gas up. Then the rest of the way, checking in to the hotel and meeting the team for dinner. Most of the dads by this point had consumed way too much and it was a bit out of control... We finished dinner and headed to play some putt putt, L won. Back to the hotel and settled in for the night. I was exhausted from the drive.

20180904 + Lights Out

20180904 + Up and dropped J at school and in to the office. It is Tuesday but really feels like a Monday. Had a couple early day meetings that shot the morning. Finished the day at the desk getting things organized and done. Headed home in good time and L&I ran to Reynoldsburg to pick up some auction items and chat about the weekend without kids around. We got our stuff and got home, J had a friend over and then they went out scottering a bit. I changed into a ridiculous Hawaiian shirt and argyle socks outfit and went to pick G up at baseball. The outfit didn't phase G and we headed home after checking in with the guys. Home and did some admin stuff for G's baseball team and then dug into email. Got boys to bed in good time. I stayed up and watched a HORRIFYING movie 'Lights Out'

20180126 - Tommy's Bday

20180126 - Up slow in the am and in to work. Pretty quiet day other then a few calls so lining things up to knock out next week. Headed home and got L&G and we headed to Coaches for Tom's bday party. I ate a ton of wings and hung out talking between songs. It was a good time and we headed home with one more boy, Brady and D was gone as he went to Chad's to spend the night.

20171216 + I love elves!

20171216 + Up in the am and LG&I headed to Granville for a basketball tournament, D&J hanging around the house today. G played 3 games, W2, L2, some pretty intense basketball... We finished up about 2pm and headed home swinging through Arby's to grab some lunner. Home and ate, checked in with D&J and then out for another basketball game where we got beat at home. Home and changed and LG&I headed to the McClain's for a fun ugly Christmas sweater party. It was a lot of fun. Home not too late in prep for more basket tomorrow morning.

20171015 - G's Top Shot Birthday Party

20171015 - Up in the am and J&I headed out to get the last items needed for G's party. Home and we finalized the set up, putting everything in its place ready for the kids. Soon the backyard was swarming with little boys and we got the Top Shot party started. It started with a Frisbee challenge, then football toss, yard darts and then the backdrop Brady and G made last weekend got a work out. The first event was an Annie Oakley Shoot where the boys had to use a mirror and hit a target with Nerf guns and Velcro darts. They then had to shoot ping pong balls off of a golf tees with squirt guns. Next they got to be creative and build marshmallow shooters out of 1/2 inch PVC pipe to knock the opposing teams cans off the board. This was followed by a plate break with slingshots and balloon pop with darts. We ended the party with cake and G opening his presents, many were gag gifts, poor boy. G headed back to baseball practice while LDJ&I cleaned everything up before the rain came. Surprised and thankful that the 80% chance of rain didn't materialize today.

I went back to get G from his practice and home for only a moment before heading to a basketball tryout. it was a long tryout with a ton of kids. G&I stopped at Taco Bell on the way home and got dinner. Home and we watched the original 'Blade Runner' while we ate, boys didn't like the movie so much.

20170702 + Lunch & Dinner Fun

20170702 + Up and D to softball games with DGF7. J stayed home and went all over town. LG&I to G's baseball game and met Gma&paW there. G didn't have a great game, hit every time he was up but couldn't get it out of the infield so got out each time. He did get 1 RBI, but he was also the last out of the game and ended our run in the tournament, pretty hard on him. After the game we had some friends from the team over. I headed to Kroger to get food with Kurt and Dan and cooked up a huge lunch. Gma&paW stayed for lunch and the McClains and Tom and all their kids joined us. It was a great afternoon! Some folks let and some stayed. We hung out on back porch until late. I stayed up and finished season 4 of 'The 100'.

20170127 + Tom's 40

20170127 + Up in the am and in to work. Had a pretty productive day full of emergency orders. Home and ate some pizza with the fam. D home from baseball, J headed to the Chiller to skate, G hanging out and L&I headed to Coaches for our friend Tom's 40th bday party. A lot of our friends were there and we were having a great time but had to cut it short as D headed to a buddy's and F was scared at home alone. Home, G to bed, J home and I stayed up way too late trying to get caught up.

20160709 - G MVP

20160709 - Up early in the am and all down to breakfast then to the ballfields. We played a really good team the first game and we were not awake and had too many errors to pull out the win even with a strong late comeback... Everyone kind of broke up for lunch, I stayed and scouted another team we would eventually play. The second game the boys were ready to play and we won 21 to 6. G had 3 double a single and struck out 9 batters straight to win the game. The coach from the other team awarded G the MVP for our team, it was really cool We had plans for everyone to go to BWs after the game but somehow that got derailed and everyone broke out and returned to the hotel, some of the kids swam, L&I refused to be the designated parents tonight, but still were the only ones really paying attention and checking on the kids running around the hotel... We hung out on the patio and had drinks, listened to music and danced.

20160703 + Gahanna 9U Hometown Champs!

20160703 + Up in the am and Bill and Brady stopped by while G&I were waking up. We got ready quick and headed to the ball field with them. G headed to the field on his bike. Game one for the day and we won the first game in good order. D's games were cancelled due to the rain so they headed home. We hung out at the field and one of the parents ran and got Subway for the team. The boys hung out under the trees between the fields until time for game 2, the championship game. L&D + Gma&paW showed up and we were all there for the game. The boys run ruled the other team in 4 innings and were crowned the HOMETOWN CHAMPS! So PROUD of these Gahanna 9U Lions for winning the championship. After the game we headed to Max & Erma's for dinner, then home to settle down from a crazy week

20160525 + Lineup Planning

20160525 + Up in the am and in to work.  We had the Board, Sales Team and a customers in today doing time studies and it was quite stressful...  After work I headed home and G&I to baseball practice.  Home and the coaches stopped over for a beer and some pizza and to discuss the upcoming weekend full of baseball.  Up late bidding.

20151031 + Trick-or-Treat

20151031 + Up took D to driving school, LJ&G out shopping, I got things done at the desk. D done with his last day of driving school, thinks he did well on his test. D walked to the barber to get his hair cut. I went and picked D up and we stopped at the new Moe's Southwestern Grill for lunch, it was ok. Home and LJ&G home. DJG& Drew helped me put up a lean-to behind the shed to cover the riding mower. I ran D & Drew to a baseball game they were invited to at Academy Park. Home and J&I fixed the charging station in my office and worked on the barn door hangers I brought home for work to use in the little boy's room. L ran G to the Cole's for the night. I went to pick up D at the ball field and he added a friend, so now 3 boys to our house while we were trying to get ready for the party. D in a tizzy, he lost his wallet... So I took him and his friends back to the ball park with flashlights to find the billfold. Miraculously they found it... Home and finally dressed for the party, L&I took the 3 boys to one of their houses and dropped them off. L&I on to the party that was a blast. Everyone was dressed in very creative costumes, L was a pirate and I was Pee Wee Herman. I was the DJ for part of the night and we all danced and had a great time! Home about 2am.

20151010 - GO BUCKS!

20151010 - Up in the am and L&J headed to his soccer game.  DG&I got things ready and D ran us to get ice and final supplies.  Back to the house final preparations done and relaxing before people started showing up.  L&J home and our family and friends started coming in.  Being a home game and other local schools having Homecoming dances the turn out was lower than past years and noticeably fewer kids.   There was plenty of food, a great game and time for us to sit and talk with our guests.  A very nice relaxing and enjoyable day of sunshine and friends.

After the party we packed up and went to G's scrimmage under the lights.  D was the ump and it was freezing cold.  It was a good game and the boys won but it was FREEZING.  The boys were mad at me for not going to BWs but we had a long enough day and once home they got cleaned up, warmed up and settled in.  A great day.
