20251109 - Up in the am and did a couple things at the desk. Took a bunch of stuff out to the living room to list on ebay while we watched TV. L not feeling great today. Took a break and took Hazel on a super cold walk. In the afternoon we had to run G over to Dayton to meet u with GGF6 and L saw her Christmas present in the trunk when putting G's stuff in there... Made good time on the trip and home a bit after dark. Listed more stuff on ebay and watched football.

20251108 + Up late and to the desk to get a couple things done. L ran out on some errands. I headed out and dropped some metrics license plate screws off at the car lot, dropped a shipment at the post office, swung through Giant Eagle to pick up a prescription and a chunk of meat, Home Depot to exchange a gift I ordered the wrong thing, and finally to Double Barrel to meet up with Tony (Ls cousin) & Wendy and their friends to watch the OSU football game. L&G were watching it at home. I headed home as the game wound down and watched the end with L, G bailed on her and headed out to see some of his old buddies. I got the chunk of meat in the smoker and Hazel and I headed out on a walk downtown. Home and watching football. Meat was done about 8:30 and L&I had a little feast. G home late and got some of the meat.

20251107 - Up late and to the desk on the new project. Was on the ph for 4hrs… G surprised us and showed up from school in the late afternoon. I finished the day and L&I to Flanagan’s for Tiff’s surprise bday party. Somehow Bill was able to keep it a secret and Tiff was surprised. It was a nice event with lots of folks we know well. Home and up late watching football.

20251106 - Up in the am and headed in to the office for an early call. Was busy all day with calls. DJ got us lunch from a wing place that was pretty good. I headed to Mansfield about 3:30 to go to the calling hours for Andrew’s mom. She was only 58. Didn’t stay long and headed back home to beat the dark. Home and L cooked so dinner. Not much later L&I headed up to Coaches to meet up with Bill & Tiff to celebrate her 50th bday. It was a fun time. Home not to late and to bed.

20251102 - Up in the am and called Ken from my car place, he got me a tow truck really fast and had L's car towed to Evan's... l went for coffe with her girlfriends. Got the car towed and then headed to Groveport to pick up some auction wins. Home and the Varneys picked L&I up to show us their new house in a 55+ community New Albany. IT WAS AMAZING!!! HUGE, tons of space, everything new, a mansion! So happy for them! The dropped us off after the visit and L&I hung out the rest of the night.

20251101 - Up late and got myself around and L&I headed out in her car to meet Bill and Tiff and another couple at Double Barrel to watch the OSU Penn State game. Her car was shaking so bad that I turned around and got it home and parked it and took my car. We had some good food and a nice time. At halftime I took a walk and found a smoke shop and got some new flavors of pouches to try. After the game we were getting ready to leave and L ran in to Wendy, her cousin Tony's girlfriend, she was there the whole time! Home and relaxed and watched some football. Hazel and I went out and picked up some food for dinner and we just hung out the rest of the night.

20251031 - No idea what I did today, worked and then put in an order at KFC. After 30 min the app told me the food was ready. Took L's car to pick up the food and it is making some sort of horrible noise... Got the KFC and they hadn't even started our order yet... Was going to be another 15 min so I asked to have the order cancelled and went back home hoping the car would make it... home and L cooked some dinner quick. We ate, I left a bad review for the KFC that already had a cumulative 1.5 stars...

Home and L&I had dinner, watched the news, and then got the candy out for trick-or-treaters. Because of the recent sidewalk work our end of the road was sort of blocked off. We had about 7 groups of kids come through on a cold rain spitting night.

20251026 ‡ Up in the am and L headed out to meet Gma&paB and the Coles go to Sam's concert at OSU, she said it was fabulous. I stayed home and cleaned up the office a bit and listed stuff on ebay. Gma&paW came for a visit and we reviewed all the stuff they are planning to do to their house. GmaW & I took Hazel on a nice walk. In the evening L, D&DGF13, J&JGF7 and I headed to Texas de Brazil for a big dinner. It was a nice evening, but the food and service were nothing like back in the day. We had a nice lunch and then back to the desk. CB in late, we got caught up and then I packed up and headed home to let Hazel out and work in the garage. I was mopping the garage floor with L got home from her girls trip in FL. We were happy to see her! I skipped Bible Banggers to work in the garage.

20251012 - So got to bed at 10:45 last night and fell deep asleep. I woke refreshed and ready to go! BUT it was 12:45… 2 hours of great sleep and then I was awake until 5:45! Fell asleep for a bit but back up by 6:40 to get ready for a big day. Tom showed up a bit before 7 and we went to pick Bill up. I then drove 3hrs to Pittsburg. We parked and met with Terrill and his fam at their tailgate for a bit of partying. We then made our way to our seats for the Browns vs Steerlers game. It was a great game and the Steerlers won! It was so fun taunting Bill & Tom as they tried to support the Browns and my twirling my ‘Terrible Towel’ and hitting them in the heads with it, endlessly annoying them! Game over and we walked back to the car. 3 more hours of high speeding home! Made it home and watched some TV before crashing.

20251011 - up in the am and headed out to run some errands. First stop was the smoke shop to get some new flavored pouches from Sweden. Then a quick stop to tan at Planet Fitness and on to Kroger to get diapers for the party. Home and u loaded and hung out a bit and then go Home Depot to get some supplies. On to the bowling alley for a dudes and diapers party. Kevin a buddy is having a baby and had a party. I hung for a bit and then headed to GFS in Dublin to pick up our party supplies. They had everything but the chili :-( so I swung by the Olentangy and Minerva GFS stores and they didn’t have chili! Home and unpacked the supplies and went to install the electric and I bought almond color outlets instead of white! :-o took a deep breath and called a couple more GFS store until I got someone to walk to the freezer and confirm the had the chili. Hazel and I jumped in the car and drove down to 70 and got the chili! Home unpacked and to bed in good time for a big trip tomorrow.

I told Hazel to McDonald’s for her 5th birthday today and she got her own double bacon cheeseburger. Home and L’s friends stopped to pick her up for their annual trip to Florida. Hazels and I ate, threw the ball a bit and then mopped the garage. J helped me carry party supplies up from the basement and I got inventory of what all we need to get for the party. We walked to Dempsey's, a little bar and grill a block away and had a nice dinner. We then walked to the theater to see 'Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny' show. Jimmy Carr is a edgy comedian and thought it was a riot, a little too edgy for L... Home and G was home from school, so we checked in with him and then watched some TV in bed.

20251004 - Up early and L&I headed to Cincinnati for family weekend. I dropped L off at G's dorm and then parked the car. I hiked about a mile to find them in a sea of people on the commons. G showed us some of his classrooms and spots he knows around campus. We headed to our seats at the game and were really close. It was a GREAT game and the officiating was the worst I have ever seen. Somehow the Bearcats pulled off a win against Iowa #14 in the country and after the game the fans stormed the field. L wouldn't go, but i took the chance and ran out and hugged some players and was part of the madness for a bit. Back to our seats and then G came up off the field and we walked to a local bar to meet up with some other Gahanna folks. They were taking to long so I found us a diner close and we headed there. The Park Diner had great food and was a cute little place in an artsy part of town. I got a parking ticket, but I did pay, so I will have to fight that... We dropped G back off at his dorm and headed home. We caught the beginning of the OSU game while driving and got home to watch the rest of it on the porch and throw the ball to Hazel a bit. LONG FUN DAY!

20250929 - Up in the am and to the sign shop to pick up the prints for my special project, they look AWESOME! Headed to the Worthington office and got the day rolling. CB showed up and Cory & I joined him for lunch at Old Bag. After lunch I walked to a couple stores looking for anniversary gifts for L. Back to the desk and got a bunch done. Headed home at the end of the day and then L&I got the trash out of the house and I got an old mattress wrapped in plastic to set out for trash. L cooked up the rest of the shrimp with some mushrooms, pasta and white sauce, yummy! We watched the news, went up and put the closet door back on in the room over the garage, and the playroom cleaned up a bit. I then loaded up the car and headed to drop stuff off at Goodwill on the way to Bible Bangers. Had a small crowd tonight but good discussion. Home with fries for L and Hazel and watched some football and threw the ball until bed time.

20250919 - Woke up at 3am and was up until L's alarm went off... Up and to the desk working and getting weekend lined up. Heard a chainsaw running and didn't think much of it, but it kept going and going... So I walked out to see what was going on. The sound was coming from the backyard so I walked back and OMG! there was a Columbus Tree Service bucket truck cutting down our cherry tree behind the shed! I signaled to the guy in the truck to stop and he came down and I asked what he was doing? He couldn't speak English so the supervisor came over and asked if i wanted to talk to the home owner, I said YES! Bob walks over and I said 'Bob, what is going on?' he said 'I'm trimming the tree, it was hanging over on my side so I trimmed it.' Me = you didn't trim it you are cutting it down. Bob = They are stopping there. Me = Why didn't you talk to me about this? Bob = I knew you were going to act this way. Me = YES, You are cutting down MY TREE! Bob = well it shaded my apple tree and I had to take it out and all your other trees you had growing here killed the back of my arborvitae. Me = That doesn't matter. You don't just cut my tree down without talking to me. What do I do now. Bob = I don't care, I trimmed what was hanging over, and he walked away. Clearly he had a bucket truck hanging over the fence and cut 95% of the tree down. Not knowing what to do I called the City and tried to get ahold of the folks I know from the Landscape board and left several messages. I then called neighbors and other friends for direction and eventually the police. The police came out, they were not clear on the rules either so they started calling around. Turn out is is trespassing a M4 criminal offense, not really sure what that means. I have to now get my yard surveyed to prove who's tree it was, get an estimate on the value of the tree and take him to court. The police went and talked to Jodi and then to Bob. When the officer came back he said well your neighbor asked me if I was accusing him of anything and I told him yes, trespassing and he said ok and went inside, doesn't even care... Jodi called me back and she doesn't deal with him... L home from lunch with Gma&paB and Nicole and Lena shopping for a homecoming dress, and we surveyed the tree together. Had a weird text from Brooke, a girl that worked at DataField when I first started and then she called me. She had started a new job and was talking to one of the guys there and he said to her 'Do you know Matt Winger?' :-o It was Cory, his son played baseball with G for a couple years and they were a great family. So they called me and we chatted for a while, it was a nice surprise! Finished the day and headed home. L&I sat in the sun for a bit and then ate, watched the news, took Hazel on a walk, went to CVS and then watched TV the rest of the night.

Called J to see how things were going, they are getting the lay of the land the next couple days. 20250914 - Up and not feeling great. Medicated myself and ran to the grocery to get some ribs for J's sendoff party. Home and got 4 racks of ribs prepped and in the smoker. Did some little jobs in the garage, touched up some spots on the floor where the coating was pealing up and worked on the Schlitz ball a bit. Watched football on the porch and kept an eye on the ribs. L making all sorts of sides and desserts. Pulled the ribs and got them on the grill to glaze them and finish them off and put in a big aluminum pan and to the oven to hold them for J's friends. J and JGF7 showed up and then J left her to pick up Justin and Charlie that he is going to Japan with. J's other friends showed up, about 10 of them. When J got back we got the food out and they kids had a feast. Nice group of friends he has. L and JGF7 got a little weepy together... Everyone left and J started packing for the trip... Up at 4:45am and I ran the boys to the airport and off they went. Feeling like I have been run over by a bus by now...

20250913 - Up in the am and doing thins around the house. L&I got ready and headed downtown and got a pretty descent parking place and walked to the Horseshoe. We got there too late for the skull session so just waited outside the rotunda for the team to walk in. We found a couple friends walking around and they stood with us, we have never been this close before and the players came by and hit our hands as they walked in, they are HUGE men! we then made our way to our seats, which were not together, one row apart and 4 seats off. We waited for everyone to show up and asked if people didn't mind scooting down and they did so at lease I was right behind L. We watched the band come in and all the procession of the pre-game and then settled in a for a nice win! We stayed long after the game was over and both OU and the OSU bands performed and it was really good. We thought the extra time would make getting out of the parking garage easier, but we sat in the car for almost and hour before we got out of the garage. Home safe after a lovely day.

We also applied for a credit card for him, although he won't have it before he leaves, if he is approved he'd have a digital one on his phone. Home and finished my work day and L&I went out to eat with the Mallonns at Firebird a new steak place on N Hamilton. It was really good. L&I stopped at Target and Home depot on the way home to pick up some things. Home and hung out the rest of the evening.

L home for lunch, Lonie stopped by on his way home from the office to look at the TV I was working on last night to see if he had any ideas for a work around. Hazel and I took a walk. Back to the desk to finish the day. Mid afternoon I received an alert that Charlie Kirk was shot. Stunned at the news I went looking for information. The first thing that came up was a video from a distance that showed the event. I searched more and found a close up video of the exact moment he was shot and I wished now that I hadn't. Absolutely horrific to see this. My immediate thought was there is no way he could survive that. I got news channels on and listened to reports come in and eventually President Trump announced that he had died. What a horrible thing to happen to this man, his family and our country. Things are so completely out of control... L home, we watched the news, then got ourselves together and went to bingo. We had a small crowd, only L&I, Tom & Chaff. It was a good time, L and Chaff got in to a political discussion... L walked home and I stayed to sing a bit.

20250907 + Up late and doing some things around the house. Got G's car cleaned out and some minor fixes done and then L, hazel and I took it to the carwash so it is nice and pretty for him when he comes home. Cleaned up the garage a bit and took down the spinning beer sign to make repairs, got some paint chips from the garage floor to see about getting some matching paint for touchups. Watched football on the back porch and had the rest of the brisket for dinner. Watched a couple movie, up late.

20250906 + Up in the am and got the brisket flat in the smoker and made a list of stuff to do for the weekend. Headed to the grocery store and got some goodies for the game. Home and watched the OSU game and got a couple little things done in around the house. Chaff came over to watch some of the game and then Terrill, D, DGF13 and Hank, J and JGF7 and Chris Bowman came over to watch Xichgan get beat! The brisket was done and I had the smart idea to put it on the grill for a minute to char the fat cap... well all the juices spilled out and cause a fire and charred the whole outside of the thing... It was still good and folks ate it up. up late watching football.

At 4:30 Hazel and I ran to pick up 2024 tax docs and I got to talk to Beth's daughter for a min. Beth died of natural causes, lonely broken heart :-( 10 mo after her husband died. Home and L home from her CPR certification and we all hung out on the back porch on this beautiful day. We had leftovers for dinner and then went in to watch the finale of Bachelor in Paradise. Headed to bed and J home and JGF7 was with him...

20250901 - Up in the am and D & DGF13 over and opened his gifts from GmaW from yesterday. They then joined LG&I and we went to Johnstown for Swapper's Day. I got some praline pecans and followed folks around as they looked for treasures. Ran in to a couple folks we knew and enjoyed the sights. We finished the visit off with some fair food and then headed home, stopping to get me some fresh peaches from a roadside stand. Home and I headed to the porch to read, where I eventually ended up napping. L cut G's hair and then his buddies stopped to pick him up and take him back to school. Up and around and L&I ran to pick up some auction stuff and drop a shipment in the mail. Home and the neighbors stopped over with their kidos for a nice visit. I then ran out and picked up some Powerball tickets the jackpot is $1.1B. Home and watched some college football for a bit and then finished the 'Titan's' series. What a pleasant long weekend.

20250831 + Up let Forrest out and trying to figure out what to do for the day. Called Gma&paW and they are going to come down for a cookout. I got some things done at the desk and then L&I ran to the grocery to get supplies for the the cook out. Home and things put away and L started food prep and I worked in the shop organizing couple drawers of stuff looking for brackets to fix a hanging table of J's. I got it fixed and then warmed up the grill. Tommy came over, then Gma&paW arrived. We finalized the cooking and dinner was served. GpaW did great eating, more than I've seen him eat in a long time and he was getting around pretty good. Then Doc got home and we shuffled him across the road and got him a plate of food and he ate it all up, eating like a champ. We all sat and had a nice visit on the porch. L&I helped Doc get home, Gma&paW took off and Tom stayed and we watched some football for a bit. What a nice day!

20250830 - Up in the am and let Forrest out and then G got ahold of L, he wanted to come home. L cancelled her plans with friends and drove over to Plain City to pick him up. I got the garage all cleaned out and his car started to make sure everything was ok. L&G picked up Cane's on the way home and we all sat on the back porch and watched the Buckeyes beat Texas! What a game! I walked over to Nate's after the game and hung out with him and some of his friends for a bit. D, DGF13 and Hank stopped over so I went back home and we sent G to pick up hibachi for dinner. We hung out the porch and watched football for all evening.

It was pretty good, but pretty pricey. We then hit Giant Eagle to pic up a prescription, a couple groceries and lotto tickets. Home and got things unpacked and watched some TV. I then attempted to install a new ceiling fan in the room over the garage, now J's room and ran in to some problems... It was going to hang down to far and hit J&I in the head... so I tried to modify the new fan to make it shorter. That didn't work.. so I took down the old fane and figured out a way to use the old base with the new motor and ended up frankensteining the two together and it WORKED! It looks and works amazing! to bed at 4:30am!

20250825 - Up in the am and in to the Worthington office. L has her first day of parent orientation today and J stayed home from work, hurt his foot playing volleyball last night, G has his first day of classes at UC. Busy morning and just Cory and I went to Old Bag for lunch. Back to the desk, CB stopped in and we chatted about everything and got caught up. Home and hung out on the back porch. K tried to get groceries a couple times without much luck. We had dinner and then she finally got her groceries and I tried the help her log on to the new took her school wants to use. Headed to Bible Bangers and hung out with Chris and Shalyn. Home and watched some tv, got G a graphing calculator and headed to bed.

20250823 + Up in the am and we were going to go on Gary and Marlene's boat today, but something came up so it ended up only the girls going to lunch. Hazel and I got around and went out for a drive and got my car washed and picked up some food at Wendy's. L home and we headed to to Value City Arena to see Nate Bargatze: Big Dumb Eyes World Tour. We got there in good time and found L's cousins in the crowd, way on the other side of the place. The comedy show lasted a couple hours and it was really good, we had never been to anything like that before in such a big setting. After the show we met up with L's cousins for a late night snack and chatted until late. Home and straight to bed.

20250822 - Up in the ama and to the desk getting things done. L in to her work to get her room ready. When she got home we walked down to Creekside and got a table close to the Rotary stage and ordered some dinner and let some friends know where we were. Soon Tom, then Bill and Tiff joined us and we hung out for the 'Popp Gun' concert and had the best seats in the house. We ran in to all kinds of folks we knew and it was a great time. After the concert we headed to Signatures and Holly and another girl helped get a makeshift karaoke situation set up and we sang and sang. What a fun night!

L asked G where he wanted to go to eat for his last supper and he requested steak and mashed potatoes and gravy at home, so she ran to the store and got groceries for dinner. Done with the day and got the grill ready. G cooked the steaks and DD, DGF13 and Hank came over and we all had a nice last supper with G. After dinner L&I watched the news and G started packing about 10pm...

20250817 - L headed to Nicole's church to meet her parents to see Rich, Nicole, Sam and Lena do some presentation at their church this morning and then they all went to lunch. I got up late and helped the neighbor with his mower, but we didn't accomplish much... On the back porch getting organized for a busy week. L home, I got cleaned up and we headed out. 1st stop was Goodwill, post office, the office in Worthington to get a dolly for G's move Tues, VillaNova Ristorante for dinner. We had never been there, it was cute. Home and got on G to start packing...

20250816 - Up late and D, DGF13 and Hank came over to change the back breaks on his car and play in the yard and pools. We got the breaks changed and L ran to the store and made us some lunch. We hung out for a bit and then the kids left. Tommy stopped by and we went and looked at cars, he needs a new one since his was totaled by a drunk driver a couple weeks back. I showed him the Mercedes that were on my buddy's lot but he wasn't there so we couldn't test drive any. I did call him and he has a car just like J's coming in on Wed so we went home and I had Tom drive J's car. He REALLY liked it, so smooth, so FAST. So we are going back up on Wed pm to see it. Home and Tom stayed for a bit and chatted. We looked up tickets for the Steeler's game on 10/12 and got tickets so Tome Bill, Terrill and I could all go to the game against the Brows. L&I watched a movie and some TV before heading to bed.

Took Hazel on a walk and then back to the desk to finish the day. LG and GGF6 here. I finished my day and we went to Signature's for BINGO! We had 12 at out table tonight and it was a good time. Home late and watched a British show before bed.

20250812 - Up and ready, L in to school to work on her room, Hazel and I walked to the corner and back, at the desk getting things done. Back to the desk, G asked if he could borrow my car to go pick up food he ordered... What? We had a little talk about all the food we had in the house from J's party a couple days ago, and how G needed to get his car running, and how he wasn't working or listing things on ebay for me, so how is he buying food that he needs to pick up? Didn't go well for G... We got his car running and charging the battery charged up, seems to be fine now, not sure what happened. Hazel and I took a midday walk. Had a call start at 2 that that lasted till 4... got all the new trust, wills, etc. scanned in during the call. Day over, out and L&I had leftovers and watched the news. We then ran to a teaching store up at Polaris for L to pick up some stuff for her room. Home and GGF6 standing at the front door, G was not answering the door, his phone or texts... boy needs to get his shit together... In and G & GGF6 headed out. L&I watched some comedian on Netflix before heading to bed.

20250811 - Up and still pretty tender so working from home today. L headed in to her classroom to start getting things ready and Hazel and I hung out on the back porch with the computer. Went in for a work call and then had an IT escalation to to deal with. G awoke and tried to get in to his car for a very short period of time before giving up the 'IMPOSSIBLE!' task... Demonstrating some perseverance I got the car unlocked and the battery charger on it. L home from cleaning and prepping her room all day, she brought home a bunch of dress up clothes she has in her room to was and Hazel was suddenly a victim... J had some friends over, I headed to Bible Bangers. Home and watched some TV with L.

20250810 - Up LATE and got the pork shoulders seasoned and in the smoker. Hung out on the back porch catching up on things and doing some reading. L&I gave GpaW a call for his 77th Bday and he sounded better today and planned on going out for ice cream tonight! I got the pork out of the smoker and helped J get the salmon in. Hung out on the porch till meat was done and needed to pull it as J's friends started showing up. he had about 15 friends over and they played games in the back yard, ate and had a good time. Bunch of nice kids. L&I heled get things cleaned up and headed to bed.

20250809 - L up early and to the Farm for Liz's wedding shower. I got up LATE and to the desk. Got the bills paid and then J&I headed to Giant Eagle to get stuff for tomorrow, he's having a party. Home and relaxing on the porch, J grilled some steaks and we ate. L home and told me all about the shower, she said it was very nice. We hung out on the porch watching TV until late.

20250808 - Up LATE and to the desk to do a couple things before L&I headed to Ashland to get our trust updated. That went quick and felt good to get done. We swung by the Farm to see if we could help GmaW with some things for the shower tomorrow and she had a couple little jobs for us. We got those done and things look good and ready. We went up to the house for a bit to GpaW and he was just sitting in the family room head down, not watching TV, not doing anything, looked a lot like Doc hunched over in the nursing home... GpaW talked a bit, but not interested in much. We headed out and stopped at the Black Dog Tavern on the way home for dinner. Home and relaxing the rest of the evening.
20250807 - Heart Ablation
20250807 - Up early and L took me to Mt. Carmel East and we got checked in. Got ready and wheeled in the a super futuristic OR that looked like something out of StarTrek. Got put under At 10:50 and woke up at 1. While I was out I got a heart ablation… This is a pic of heart, left is before, right is after. The purple is electrical current, it was all over the place, that’s what caused me to go into AFIB. So they isolated the electric signals so should be all good now.
Got sent home about 4:30 with just 2 little bandaids on… Had some dinner, a little sore but ok. Couldn’t sleep as I was asleep most of the day.

20250806 - Up and to the desk getting things done. L, Hazel and I took a big walk. Finished my day and Steph stopped by and we all walked to Signatures for Bingo. We had 17 folks join us and it was a good time. Still no karaoke :-( Chaff took me home as we stayed late to chat with folks.
20250804 - Cleaning Up
20250804 - Up in the am and ran to the computer store on the way in to the office to get the last o the laptops for our refresh project. Once these get deployed we will wrap up 3 year long projects! Today is the first time CB, Cory and I have been in the office together for 3 weeks. We went to Old Bag for an early lunch. Back to the office and I cleaned the bathrooms which led to cleaning out the cleaning closet. Had a call and Erin and one of her daughters stopped by the office. Finished the day and headed home. Home and threw the ball to Hazel and L made some yummy bang bang shrimp tacos for dinner. We watched the news and then I headed to Bible Bangers, good to catch up with everyone. Home and watching Bachelor with L before bed.

20250803 - Up late, caught up on the blog a bit. To the desk and got a couple things done. J&I put a pork loin in the smoker and then ran his car to the tire place so he can get new back tires tomorrow. Home and got some email cleared out and then L&I ran to the farmers market to get some corn and fruit with a stop and Lowe's to see if the perennials were on sale yet, nothing. Home and Hazel and I got our nails trimmed hanging out on the patio. Meat was almost done smoking so Hazel and I ran upstairs to let J&G know and on the way down the steps I went in to AFIB... Took a couple of readings and then proceeded to pull the meat, slice it and finish it on the grill. D and DGF13 and Hanky Boy joined us for dinner and we had a nice family meal on the patio. L&I got things cleaned up and watched the news and AFV. I then got a shower and AFIB was gone when I got out... L&I watched 'Red Eye', an old thriller movie that was pretty good before heading to bed.

20250802 - Up and to the desk, paid bills and then L&I headed down to Creekside to the Vets, Rods, and Classics car show. There were a lot of nice cars there. L likes the big old ones and I like new fast ones. We headed home and hung out on the back porch and Derek S and friend stopped by for a beer and chat after they finished at the car show. I then planted a couple bulbs and then took Hazel on a big walk to Creekside and all the cars were gone. Home and L and I went to see the new Superman movie and it was really good!
20250801 - Little Doc
20250801 - Up in the am and to the desk. Had a slow day at work and got a couple of important things done. L&I headed to Nazareth for dinner and G and GGF6 came along. After dinner L&I stopped to Doc on the way home. He's pretty small and skinny but in good spirits and enjoyed the greek honey cake we took him and Mis Crews. We chatted for about an hour and then headed home and watched ‘Miller’s Girl’, which was supposed to be a thriller, but was a total stinker waste of time.

20250731 - Up in the am and headed to the Worthington office. I stopped to get gas and a banana to use as a weapon later. In to the office and got the day rolling, we had hibachi for lunch and then I got my mask on and my banana and robbed everyone in the building. I then went around and had the victims fill out witness forms and gave them feedback on their actions during the robbery and the details they provided on the forms. this was all part of testing our Robbery / Threatening Situations scenario of our Disaster Recover Plan. Back to the desk and finished the day. Home and L made dinner and then L Hazel and I took a big walk. GGF6 spent the night… L&I watched ‘Until Dawn’ a horror movie that wasn’t terrible before heading to bed.

20250730 - Up in the am and slow morning. G working at the moving company with his brothers today. GpaW got his gal bladder removed laparoscopically this morning! L&I picked up GmaW at Riverside and took her to lunch at the Old Bag. We ran into CB and Steve and his wife there. Back to the hospital and checked in on GpaW, doing much better today. Home and GGF6 here for the night. I finished the work day. To bingo at Signature’s. We had 9 folks join us tonight and had a good time.

20250729 - Up super early and L&I to see a cardiac electrophysiologist and schedule an ablation for 8/7... Home and got on the laptop and got the day rolling. Pretty tired so rested a bit and then jumped on afternoon tasks and calls. Hazel and I took a walk and then back to the desk to finish the day.

20250728 + Up in the am and checked out of the hotel and headed to a highly recommended breakfast spot only to find it closed... Found a little place called Mamma G's German Bakery and had an AMAZING breakfast! We then drove in to downtown Sarasota and mase some stops at the Unconditional Surrender status, a great white shark, the Elvis House, a couple houses shaped like a boat and one like a lighthouse and ended up at mini gold that had live alligators for 18 HOT holes. We had a good time and then headed to the airport where we met up with the McClains to wait around and then fly home. Home and D picked us up and got us home. L&I got unpacked and cleaned up from J's party he had here last night. Once we got things stabilized we headed to Riverside to see GpaW and take GmaW some dinner. We visited for a bit and it sounds like this hospital knows a bit more and has a good plan. Home and tired from vacation and a long day headed to bed.

20250727 - Up early and to the ballfields at IMG Academy. The first game was against a team from Taiwan and they were really good. Our boys held on and got the semi-final win. The best part was after the game the Taiwanese team had a ceremony where they bowed to the field, our players and parents and then presented gifts to our boys and got pictures taken. G got some cool stuff in the care package that he got. We had a break before the championship game and G wanted fried chicken, I thought wasn't a great idea and we went through Wendy's to get food and head back tot he hotel and relax int eh AC a bit. Time to go the field and the boys got a ride and the adults stayed back to stay cool and have a couple drinks before roasting. We all headed to the field and grabbed the bleachers and drug them back under the stadium so we could sit in shade. It was a really good game and G did great. At one point I got a ball and pen from the school and gave it to G's coach to have everyone sign it for him as this was going to be his last game... sad... the last out happened and our boys won their first championship of the season! Emotions were high as we got the trophy and boys realized this was the end of many years to baseball life... We got some pictures and the boys didn't really want to leave the field... We drove G through Zaxby's to get him fried chicken after the win and headed back to the hotel to eat. Then L&I headed to the beach to meet up with a couple families and get in the water again. One of the couples had a 10yr old girl that wanted to get in the water and all the other adults wanted to sit by the bar and drink so L&I took her way out the sand bar and she blah blah blah and dove through waves, it was a hoot. People got hungry and we all decided to head back to our rooms and get changed and meet up for dinner. The boys from the other families were asleep so they all folded and LG&I ended up headed out to find crab legs for G. We found a little fast food joint that served them in a vat of garlic butter and they were really good. It was pouring down as we headed back tot he hotel. Settled in for our last night here.

20250726 - Up early and to the baseball fields for the first game of the day. We got to sit in the stadium but it was so hot even in the shade we felt like melting... G had an amazing game going 3 for 3 and the boys beat this team 12-2 in just 4 innings. That gave us a little break and then game 2 with a local team that beat us 6-3. We thought that might be the end of it and needed to wait to see how the other teams in the tournament did before we knew if we were going to be playing tomorrow... G&I headed out to meet a couple of his teammates at a place called 'Juice's Fair Food' that served every kind of fair food you could think of. It was really good and greasy! People really weren't making plans so L&I headed to a flea market to see if we could find any business connections, but it was a bust. Back to the hotel and then L&I decided to head back to the beach to cool off for a bit. After the beach we went back to the hotel, got cleaned up and headed to PopStroke, a fancy min-golf place that had a restaurant and bar attached to it. G and some teammates went racing pro go-karts and had a blast and met us at putt putt after. It was a nice relaxing evening and to top it off we made it to bracket play tomorrow.

20250725 + Up in the am LG&I ran to a hotel to pick up another player and then meet a bunch of the baseball families at the beach. It was a nice set up and we rented a bunch of umbrellas and chairs and we all got to hang out. The had a cafe and bar close and it was a lot of fun. The water was perfect and it was nice to get the boys out of their rooms, off their devices and having fun in the water. A nice relaxing time. Headed back to the hotel to rinse the sand and salt off before heading to G's game. On the way to the game the skies opened up and thunder and lightening rolled and the game was delayed to an 8pm start. We hung out at the hotel a bit to stay cool and when we got back to the field for the game it was int he 80s and lovely! Our boys played hard and won 18-1 in only 3 innings! Everyone pretty tired from a long day so nobody really did anything that night but hang out in the lobby and chat.

20250724 + Up in the am and L&I headed to Coquina beach close to the hotel. It was pretty deserted and we set up and enjoyed the Gulf of America! The water was lovely, nice breeze and I got a palm branch and dug a chair into the side of the beach and baked. We were there a couple of hours and then headed back to the room. G still in the room, all the boys were, they can't organize anything... I ran G to the field and dropped him off and then back to the hotel to rinse off the salt and sand. L&I headed to the field and met us with cousin Jennifer, she came up to watch G play. G wasn't playing, he was DH... But then he got put in at 3rd and ended the game pitching and did real well and got the save. After the game all the families met at the Island Times Bar and Grill and we had a nice meal. Afterwards we went across the street to the Moose with Bill and Tiff to watch the sunset from their deck and had a bagpipe serenade as the sun went down. From there folks split off, L&I went back to Clancy's from the first night and settled in for some karaoke. The first couple singers were REALLY GOOD and L was like 'oh you can't sing here' :-) But I did and 2 other baseball families showed up and we sang until midnight. Back to the hotel and got G in the room about 2am.
