20240511 + Torn Apart

20240511 + Up and it was raining, JVA game cancelled. I dug in to L’s car and installed all the wiring and tested out a backup camera install. I had 2 cameras, but neither of them fit quite right so I got on Amazon and found one I think will do the trick. I finished running the wires and then put everything back together inside so all I have to do tomorrow is install the camera. D and DGF13 over and we got J&G and took L to Olive Garden for a nice pre-Mother’s Day dinner. Back home and L cut D’s hair and then we watched a movie.

20240510 + Late Deconstruction

20240510 + Up in the am and to the desk. i got some work eBay things shipped, cleaned out some of my old stock and loaded L's car with stuff to take to Goodwill and ship. I headed out and dropped things off at Goodwill, swung by Kroger to get concession stand supplies, then to the high school to clean out their concession stand of stuff for the baseball stand. Back to the house and worked a bit more. L had a school picnic after class and had a good time seeing all of her students, past and present. She ran home for a bit and then back to school to clean up her room for the weekend. When she got home we loaded up the car and headed to the ball field for our last regular season game. G had a bad night, but they still won. Home and L decided to mow, so I decided to start working on her car installing the new 12.3: Android screen with Apple CarPlay. I took out piece after piece and then worked on all the impossible connections to get as far as I could. I stopped at 2am and then researched backup camera installs until 3am...

20240509 - Lesson on Saving

20240509 - Up in the am and headed over to the Worthington office. Got some work done, they brought in pizzas for lunch. Raining here but cleared up in early afternoon. Headed out a bit early to get to the game. It was a close game. G went 0-3 tonight, but they still won. Home and relaxing, G wanted to signup for some Xbox subscription for $17/mo, not without a job he isn’t… I thought I knew a trick, so looked it up and was able to convert my lesser annual subscription to the new thing he wanted by adding some gift cards to my current account. I spent $144 on the gift cards, he loaded them, and then we converted and got what he was looking for through April of 2026. So showed him how reading your emails and spending $144, rather than $425 on a monthly subscription, pays off… Watched some tv with L before heading to bed.

20240508 - Sr. Night

20240508 - Up in the am and to the desk for a call with a provider. I wasn't happy with their product so got us a $100/mo discount! Got some email and other things done and then took Hazel on a walk. Finished up my day, L home and we headed to the ballfield for Sr. Night. L got stuff set up with Mel and I got the press box stuff ready. I ran the music and Randi did the Sr. announcements. it was a very nice ceremony and the boys almost lost the game. Bottom of 6 in a tie and G was first up. he broke his dry spell and got a single and then worked his way around the bases to put us up by 1. They held them in the top of 7 and pulled off the W! what a great ending to Sr. night! We got things cleaned up and then headed home. L&I walked down to Signatures and joined some of the Sr. families for dinner. It was a good night.

20240507 - Pineapples & Shave

20240507 - Up in the am and drove the big ol work truck back tot he office to meet the AT&T guy there so he could put new service in to our server room. I had a call and got a couple of things done while he did the install. Once he was done I packed up and headed to the home office, had to jump on a call as soon as I walked in the door with the team from QuickBase about building a new tracking tool. Finished that call and ran to the Gahanna Jefferson Public School main office for a meeting about the new fieldhouse we are trying to get built. Home and got a couple more things done for work. It started POURING so our game got cancelled for tonight. It was senior night and L was out at the field with bunch of stuff that she had to pack up quick and get home. I took a couple pineapples and carved them out and then filled them with pulled pork, bacon bits, pineapple and bbq sauce, topped with walnuts and cranberries and threw them in the smoker for dinner. They were a hit! L&I gave Hazel a good spring shaving and then headed to bed.

20240506 - Wet Chairs

20240506 - Up and in to the office. It was a busy morning and then we walked to Old Bag for lunch. After lunch I got a couple more things done and then headed to the storage unit in the big work truck to get chairs. I was able to fit 10 of them in there and headed out for deliveries just as it started to rain. I got to my buddy Scott Sampson's work and dropped off 4 of the chairs and then made my way across town in the monsoon to our baseball field where I got the other 6 chairs up in the press box and some candy delivered, and got soaking wet... Home and changed and L&I headed to Sparta OH for G's baseball game. It was a good game until the last inning when they decided to bunt against us, and we know we can't defend the bunt, so we lost the game... Home and frustrated with baseball. Called a couple guys and then talked to the Coach to get things squared away to finish off this week. In and watched some TV with L before heading to bed.

20240505 - New Door

20240505 - Up and pulled L's car in to the garage and started tearing it apart. I took the whole center console apart to replace a tiny little piece of the spinner for the computer system. Got everything back together and it WORKS! I then headed out and put the pump on the well in the backyard and that turned in to cleaning out the shed... back up to the house and spread poison around the house and sprayed some inside. L&I attempted to install the new screen door then realized it was a right-hand open when we need a left hand open... So we headed to Home Depot and exchanged the door. home and Derek stopped by with some trek wood for me to replace boards on the playset with. He stayed to help put the door on. It looks GREAT!

20240504 - Pulled Pork Ensaladas

20240504 - Up and L&I headed to Watkins Memorial high school for G's baseball game. It was an overcast chilled day and crappy baseball. Home and I paid bills, D and DGF13 stopped by to drop off his laundry and chat a bit. L went to a concert with Nicole and then out to eat with her girl friends. Hazel and I took a break and made some pulled pork enchiladas, threw them in the over, and walked to the drive through. It rained on us on the way home. Home and J&I and had an enchilada feast while watching some TV. I fell asleep in the chair... G at a 'Gunna' concert with his friends and then to some after prom parties.

20240503 - Doc the Squirrel

20240503 - Up in the am and doing stuff in the office. Ran to Kroger and got concession supplies and then back home and got more work done waiting on L to get home. L home and we packed up and headed to the ballfield. G had a HORRIBLE game going 0-3 and 3 fielding errors. Somehow they still won. Home and Doc out inn his drive working on his tan so we went o0ver and talked to them a bit. i got his stuffed squirrel for my office. It kind of reminds me of Doc, a wiry little ornery guy, hazel not a fan... In and got something to eat, up too late.

20240502 - G Got In

20240502 - Up in the am and to the desk. Got some stuff done and ran to Kroger to get stand supplies. Back to the desk and finished the day. L home and we headed to the ballfield, G NOT playing tonight... During the game Toby got hurt and they stopped the game to stretch him out. Next play same things happened so G got in. G only had 1 at bat and got out, but did good in the field and the boys ended up winning.

20240501 - Late Night Done

20240501 - Well still up at 3am and just finished the walkup songs for the players. Pulled Pork is finally done and looks AMAZING! Let it cool for a second and then pulled it apart. Hazel helped clean up my mess on the picnic table. In and got some sleep before heading to the desk to get some work done. Finished the day, L home and we packed up and headed to Grove City for the game. G had a bad game, 0-2 and 1 fielding error and the boys got run ruled in 5... Home and dead tired, to bed early.

20240428

20240428 - L headed over to Gma&paB’s to see a concert with Nicole. Up late and carried all the things I have to do out to the table in the porch. Stack of stuff is so big I decided to do none of it and took Hazel to the dog park. We stopped at Wendy's to get some food on the way home and then ate on the back porch while watching TV. I think thought I should go in and get a pad of paper to organize all this stuff I have to do... Then I thought, no, I need to put it in OneNote so I should get my computer. But if I use my computer I will have to run an extension cord. But I' haven't finished installing the new outlet on the back porch yet, so what if I add another outlet where I sit so I don't need an extension cord?! SO I started construction that took WAY LONGER than expected, but now i have an outlet right above where I sit, so no more extension cords needed! Then I noticed the bug zapper wasn't working and many of the lights we have strung up don't work... So I took down all the lights, ordered a new bulb for the bug zapper and started hanging new lights. L home, not impressed her new storm door wasn't on :-) but she helped be find lights and we got some new ones up and it looks great. It took in the stuff from the porch I didn't get done and couldn't leave outside and relaxed the rest of the evening.
